Have you read your Bible? The rapture, first of all is a Latin word rapturi, which means a quick snatching away. Secondly, either you are a post-millenialist or A-millenialist or not a Christian at all. Third, those who blieve in the rapture, as I do, interpret the Bible literally,(for example 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 1 Corinthians 15: 51-52; I guess then the 144 thousand in Revelation 7: 5-8 is symbolic? That makes literal sense. What happened to Enoch and Elijah?) the camps, don't but allegorize the passages. When ever I read a piece of literature, I always interpret it literally unless there is a good reason not to, or the nature of the work lends to a non-literal interpretation. Fourth, the church is redeemed from sin, the Seven Years of Tribulation are a time of judgement of sin on a rebellious world and a time that God deals with Israel. By the way aren't you a bit presumptuous in condemning a conservative, evangelical Christian. I know I am going to heaven inspite of your rash, egomanical condemnation.

The rapture heresy comes from people who think the Book of Revelation is a blow-by-blow account of the final day of the world. They forget that it was an apocryphal text written to a few small communities who were under persecution and that it was supposed to be a pep talk, not a fear-filled fire and brimstone tale.
It's usually found in sola scriptura groups where they dismiss the context of the writings in the Bible and think that anyone has only to read the (translated) words in order to understand clearly. That would be like trying to read "A Tale of Two Cities" without knowing anything about the French Revolution and assuming you could figure it all out from that one book.

And are we talking Pre-tribulation rapture or Post-tribulation rapture here, Brother? I mean, there is a great deal to be discussed amongst thy brethren on that subject alone.
