This is a good program =) why?

1) AVG is able to detect viruses (trojans and the like) that are trying to invade your system

2) its a very light program -- not too big and heavy for slower pc's

3) It doesnt bug your processes and you wont experience the common "freeze-up" wherein you have to press "ctrl-alt-del" to end the not responding programs

4) they offer free edition which you can use for a long time ^_^

try going to www.grisoft.com

I am using AVG and haven't had any problems with it. I use the free anti-virus and I believe it is better than any of the other ones that I was having to pay for.

It is probably the best freeware AntiVirus on the market today.
From wikipedia:
"AVG Free Edition has spearheaded the company's growth. According to Grisoft, over 40 million users have AVG Anti-Virus protection, including users of the Free Edition."

Here is the link to the free edition:

Hope this helped.

I have been using for the past 4 months , it has caught several viruses by automatic scaning ,im using AVG free download antivirus. I downloaded some movies during which it caught one virus and put it into virus vallet , some say it is not very so effecient .some say norton is much better, but it is paid , so far no problem for me .

Yes it it definitly reliable and efficient one. Its out in market since a long period. However, i would personally preffer Avast! antivirus over it...you get a two months trial for it. And if you frequently reinstall your OS (once in 45-60 days) then you can use it for free as long as you want.
Bye...best of luck

Yes, but didn't use it for long. It was getting in conflict with some other application of mine (I think it was TinyFirewall, but I'm not sure).

I switched to Avast. It's also free, but also has a pretty interface, fast and great.

Yes I have used it in the past and it worked just as good or better than Norton and McAfee.
