I am going to use black as the main color in my wedding but I'd like to use peacock feathers also to tie in some color. I would love ideas! I'd prefer pics. I'm a visual person.

How about using some in your bouquet. Here's a picture of a bouquet for the "daring and unusual bride":

In the larger view, you can see it better. I think it's stunning!

There are some more ideas for bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids with peacock feathers here:

This idea is a little extreme, but this wedding had peacock feather masks:

Of course, centerpieces with peacock feathers are a natural. Also, decorate the cake table and wedding book table with them. Instead of the typical ostrich plume on the pen, use a peacock feather. There's one for sale here, but I think it's a bit extreme. You could make something smaller:

You can add them to pew bows and your ceremony program.

This idea might be too much for you, but you can get peacock cake toppers here:

Source 1 has some great photos of the feathers used in a bouquet, on wreaths, for programs container and as ceremony decorations with willowy twigs

Source 2 has a great idea for napkin rings

If you're incorporating birds into your theme source 3 has some gorgeous feather eggs

Source 4 is a feather / flower centerpiece idea. You could use the peacock feathers instead of regular feathers

If you scroll down on source 5 you could make peacock feather magnets as favors....

And that's about all I've got for you...Good Luck!

i like the idea of adding them to centerpieces.

also, have you though about putting them in the bridesmaids' hair?

or putting the bridesmaids in a color from the feather?

also, maybe you could use a feather fan or feather masks (like you find in new orleans for mardi gras) for decorations in the reception hall

or put peacock feathers in a vase and put numbers on them and use them as placecards for the reception hall....

...i'm scraping for ideas, sorry, but i really love the idea, i might steal it when i get married someday....

I thought that peacock feathers were "safe" - that the ones we can buy just fell of the birds. but i can' t confirm that. If they DO have to be killed to get the feathers, i would use the art, but not the feathers.

Peacock feathers are so beautiful that they should be left on the birds or naturally shed. I wouldn't want something associated with animal cruelty at my wedding - it just seems like bad karma.

Well I don't have any pictures, but you could definitely put them in centerpiece arrangments....
