Does that make sense? Is that the best excuse you can think of? Destroying a country? That is just ridiculous.

It's very simple, and was made clear when the issue first came up (again) in congress. The president wanted all the idiots off his butt, and looking at some other issue--one about which they could feel indignant, but be unable to do anything.

Clearly, it worked, since all the idiots are now screaming here about illegal immigrants.

If you are even a remote student of economics, you would understand and acknowledge the nature and math of sustainability. That is, when a nation's infrastructure, job market and habitable land mass reaches a breaking point, due to the poor nature or lack of a succinct and enforced immigration policy and more importantly an assimilation policy.

So, if you believe that opening the borders to all peoples, without respect to their health, ability to be productive, responsible, peaceful and law-abiding members of society, or their impact on existing and developing infrastructures and the standard of living for existing people (legal or illegal) within the country, would not destroy that particular country eventually, then you are ignoring the economic, social and physical laws that govern humans and nature and have been established and confirmed for centuries.

It isn't ridiculous, if you know how to do math, if you know anything about the topics of labor economics, civil engineering, social science, and a host of other relevant disciplines within academia. These disciplines all would suggest that simply letting all immigrants in, without any method of selection, certification and assimilation is a sure and perfect recipe for the destruction of a society (ANY SOCIETY).

The analogy is piling people onto a bridge; eventually the support and load bearing mechanisms begin to fail, as the influx of people increases. That's just the bridge; the people already on the bridge will continue to be infringed upon, then crowded, then suffocated, then crushed. That's a pretty good description of destruction to me. The bottom line is, without discipline and responsibility in any immigration policy & enforcement program, you invite destructive forces into your society. It's simply irresponsible, and RIDICULOUS, to suggest otherwise.

Well some people are hypocrites. there is a good side and a bad side for this. the good side is that illegal immigrants are taking jobs in fast food joints, car washes, gas stations, and other low-paying jobs that legal residents of a country would turn those jobs down. The bad side is that illegal immigrants do destroy the country financially, economically and destroy its reputation. all in all, illegal immigrants are not destroying the company fully, they are helping the community and destroying parts of it at the same time.

They think that because they don't know the real issues.
1. Illegals place a huge burden on our Health Care Systems because they get it free, while everybody else pays for them.
2. They don't pay taxes which support their local Police, Fire Stations, ambulances, schools, sanitation.
3. They can't vote which can change local laws good for their local community, State, and Nation.
There are many more issue involved. I am not against anybody coming to this Country. I am against people doing so illegally. for the above and many more.

Illegal immigration is only one of several negative trends taking place in America, today, if you're talking about trying to take care of the american public, from that standpoint you can go on to talk about NAFTA, our own corrupt politicians, insane taxation rates, the list goes on. .

What's really 'destroying' the country though is voter ignorance/apathy. People that don't know/don't care don't get involved, or speak out, and since the Public is part of our government in the United States, what's left over tries to make decisions for the rest, and thus does a poor job of it without all parties onboard and participating. We need a voter's renaissance, even if that word is french, it still has relevance in this debate. What we DON'T need is Mexico trying to participate in our US elections by proxy, through the actions of its' citizens masquerading as americans and heavily promoting pro-mexican views. I think it's time to vote Mexico OUT of our country, and support them differently in their quest to solve their own internal social problems.

'America is dying'. Is that the view of one lone professor from Texas, or has it now become Mexico's foreign policy?

Most of us poor folk don't. We just can't compete when they live 5 or 6 to a one beroom aprtment and work for $4-5.00/hr under the table.

I used to work in the restaurant business down here in Florida and my pay kept going down and down. One day they finally came to me and said they wanted to keep me because I spoke english and they loved the work I do but they "couldn't afford" to pay me more than $6 an hour, cash.

Do I hate the Mexicans for for taking my job?

No.

I don't blame them a bit, I blame the greedy bastards in thier mansions driving their Cadillac SUV's saying they can't afford to pay me.
