On behalf of polite British people, I apologise for the sarcastic answers above. If you are a highly skilled or highly qualified migrant, this country needs you. The best option is - if you can - get your employer to support your application for a work permit. Of course, you need to get a skilled part-time job before your current visa expires and you should offer to pay the legal fees yourself.
If you failed to score enough points on HSMP, you probably needed more experience or a higher salary to qualify. In the short-terms, either get a student visa and enrol for even higher qualifications or marry somebody with higher education and use his or her points in a re-application.

Can't, the south african will just have to bugger off to a bigger country, UK is getting full up cos of blummin foreigners. Try America or Russia or Australia, they're all big, failing that, try South Africa :D

How long have you been here? I was born in SA 25 Years ago, I have lived in England for 20 years. My parents are english just thta they emigrated to SA and i was born. The answer to your Q is still unanswered but be hopeful, if they can let terrists here you should have a chance. Good luck and keep happy.
