The pain will last about a week it will be completley gone in two weeks wax for your braces helps stop the pain! My mate just got them on her bottom and the next week the pain had gone and then she had to have them on the top part of her mouth! Eat soup, smoothies, oatmeal, ice-cream and yoghurts as you don't have to chew them! Avoid foods hard to chew!

You really get use to it after about 3-4 days, in about a week you don't even notice it. But... when they change the stuff in there if they tighten them the pain will come back for another 2-3 days. Take Motrin, that's made just for muscle pain. I just lived off of Gatorade and applesauce/jello for those first few days.

The pain wears off within 2 days-a week. Your mouth with probably be sore throughout this week.
You can eat, soup, mashed potatoes, yogurt, scrambled eggs, applesauce, like reaally really soft stuff. Try drinking smoothiess. The stuff sometimes gets stuck in your brackets but brushing, and flossing will get it out. xP
good luck with braces.

You are going to be a little tender every time your braces are adjusted, but it will begin to fade after a couple of days. Try ibuprofen, or if it's real bad, get him to write you a prescription for Tylenol 3. In the mean time, try fruit smoothies.

Oh, I SO feel your pain, I got mine on about 3 weeks ago.
It was 3-4 days for me and it was terrible.
Take a motrin, and I LIVED on Planet Smoothie smoothies with a protein or any other kind of blast.
Hope that helped!

Hurts for a few days after they are just on, tightened, and then come off.
Next-time you have an appointment, take a couple of painkillers (tylenol, asprin, whatever you usually take for headaches) about half an hour before your appointment.
Eating, try yoghurt or a protein shake.
