Dost thou not know the Elohiym?
Dost thou simply believe what thou art told, to sate thy fears and calm thy mind? Or doth study seem dangerous to thee?
Dost thou not fear judgment for thy error in following Man not Elohiym by way of the church?

Oh come off it!

God always does things by three, including the presentation of His nature to mankind. Most Christians worship a trinity, three persons; all the time claiming, with the great theologians, that
1 + 1 + 1 = 1 ? Indeed a mystery!

I myself was able to understand this mystery at one time; but now believe the heresy that 1 + 1 + 1 = 3.

God, the eternal spirit, presents Himself as Spirit, as Father and as the Son; Son of Man and Son of God.

While God presents Himself with many names, to disclose His majesty, He remains One and only One.

In a sense thou dost err with trinity Christians. They see an old man on a heavenly throne; a young man seated at his right hand and a dove flying circles above their heads. And they keep attempting to squeeze mother Mary into the picture. This is a pagan picture.

You have a will, a mind and emotions which present you. This does not make you a trinity. You miss the false belief of many Christians and the Scripture; Hear O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord. Deut. 6:4.

Father, Son and Holy Ghost are titles, not names. Behold 1 John 5:7 and John 1:1 together and consider. This is not a light matter in a world where our choice is life or death.

In Hebrew, there are two types of 'we'. One is the plural pronoun used by English speaking countries (such as "we rode in the car together," "we all come from the same country"...etc.). The second is the plural of RESPECT. In the Old Testament, the Jews refer to God as "Elohiym" {el-o-heem}. "Elohiym" is the plural form of "'elowahh" {el-o'-ah}, which means "god". This is very common in Arabic, French, English and many other languages. Even the Queen of England refers to herself in the plural form.
In the Eerdmans Bible Dictionary we read the following explanation of the word "Elohiym":

"As a name or designation of the God of Israel, the term is understood as a plural of majesty or an intensive plural, indicating the fullness of the supreme (or only) God ... the canonical intent is clearly monotheistic, even where the accompanying verbs or adjectives are grammatically plural (e.g. Gen. 20:13, Exod. 22:9 [Mt 8])"

Whoo hoo, layeth it on thick, do we?

Yep, "Hear, O Israel, the Lord your God is One" Elohim (plural) Yahweh (singluar) is one (singular). Yep, "Let US make man in OUR image". Okay, genius. How many of us are there, yet the Bible speaks of humanity and even whole nations in the singular? Suppose there is something more going on? Some of the church, a few centuries shy of 2 millennia ago coined an expression, a very descriptive expression, Trinity. We see the person and character and even direct mention of God as a heavenly Father. We see the person, character, and even direct mention of Jesus as the Son of God. We see the person, character, and even direct mention of God in the Holy Spirit (I'm sorry, KJV usually Ghost). But we see, even direct mention, that these parties are together, they are one. So, we commonly and simply live with what is described. I don't fully understand the machine I'm putting the words on for this note, even though I've studied and worked as a computer programmer for several years, but I do manage to live and work with it a tad bit better than some. There are things I play with, but some I respect. I suspect the play of your "question" has little of the latter.

You are right .....the trinity is not in the Old Testament, nor the New Testament for that matter. There is no such thing as a Trinity.

I must disagree with you however about a plurality of gods. Elohim does not signify a plurality of persons in a Godhead, but rather a plurality of attributes in one God. Elohim is used to in plural of greatness and power but not of persons. Ask the Jewish faith, which is based on the Old Testament. They know about Elohim and yet their distinctive foundation of faith is the shema. The shema is deuteronomy 6:4 Here O Israel the Lord our God is One Lord.

Before you ask a question based on the apparent meaning of a word, go study the word for yourself, and in the context of it's original people, tradition , and language.

There is only One God and He is not a trinity.
Colossians 2:9 says For in him (Jesus) dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Jesus is that one God.

Does thou not understand that when thou speakest in the 16th century english vernacular thou makest thyself appear a fool? We justify worshipping a single God because we are commanded to do it...Elohiym...there are many gods...."god" is just a word to signify the thing that you worship...it could be a mailbox or a beach ball...however, since a mailbox or beach ball didn't create you, give you life, establish this wonderful earth and is in fact a created thing itself..then I wouldn't recommend creating a religion in which to deify these "objects". Ya see, in the beginning...there were "gods"...but these "gods" are not the God...even the arch angel Micheal...his name means .."who is like God?" which is to say there is no one else that can compare...and yet Micheal is considered one of the highest ranking beings of the heavenly host. Yet the name Jehovah (english version) means self-existant one.."I AM" and we are called to confess with our mouths as we believe in Christ...Jesus Christ is Lord or actually Yeshua Messiah is Jehovah. That means that He is God as the Father is God and The Holy Spirit is God. They are ONE in the Godhead. Anywhere outside of that you are dealing with a created being with limited abilities and power who cannot do diddly squat for you except detract from the one true God. This was Lucifers doing and all those so called mythical "gods" and the "gods" of the pagan religions of the Bible whose names I won't mention...well, there ya go. Don't assume that anyone who doesn't believe as you do fails to study the Bible...The Bible is the inspired Word of God and was predicted to come about just when it did in Revelations 11. The King James Version as produced in 1611...perhaps you'd like to take a gander at a copy...its written in the Kings English of the 16th century. God bless, Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

God is the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. Three in One. Three sides of one God.

Besides, not to long ago it wasn't uncommon for Royalty to refer to themselves in plural even though there was only one. They also referred to other royalty as their cousins whether or not they are related.

who or what is Elohiym? it has been a while since I saw that last. I no longer remember who/what it is.

If you would READ you would find that the trinity is two things joined together that form a resultant action. The marriage of 1. good and 2. truth and the resultant Divine operation on mankind.
