I'm currently dating someone that makes me very happy except he is a very angry person... and muslim? He is not Nation of Islam, but he hates the "white devils" and especially the "jews" or "jewish". He often says that all Isrealites should be wiped off the earth but when I say, "there are probably people over there just like Americans on the war on terror who do not agree with what their government is doing," but just tells me I am niave and that Jewish people are the devil. He tells me that it is good to Hate anything that is not good or cannot be made good with your own hands. He became irate when I said I don't hate the devil, he just has some personal issues. He says that Muslims believe that white is evil, and the whiter you are, eviler you are. Is this common or taught? Is this considered hate to the Muslim community or just a fact of life? Please tell me if there is some reference I can use that can make him see it is ok with God to be more loving and understanding :)

I feel like I am giving my sweetie a bad rap. He can be a very loving person, it is just that he is wrapped up in hating anything that offends his religion. He keeps telling me that it is ok to feel that way and that you are honoring your God by hating those that do not respect him. Geesh... I don't want people to think he is crazy though. So does anyone have a Quran reference I can use? I would rather not read the entire book just to find one or two passages.

Lol, funny that you mention he is not NOI, because the idea that white = evil is purely NOI. There is no room whatsoever in Islam for racism or even anti-semitism, so either your boyfriend has been misinformed, or he has misinformed you. In fact, most Arabs are more attracted to fair skinned and white women than the darker types, lol. Just ask my husband!
Unfortunately hate and anger have no boundaries, and Muslims certainly aren't exempt. Quite the sad state of affairs, but holding the title of Muslim, Jew or Christian only urges satan to fight harder. Well, any title that involves peace, piety and morale, to be honest.

Edit: I can understand his desire to fight for his Creator, but the brother has to slow it down a bit. Allah tells us in the Quran not to transgress, to be patient, and if all else fails, he will be rewarded in the hereafter for his good deeds, his patience, and his devotion to God. He should focus more on attaining Jannah, and spreading the peace of Islam, and if someone insults Islam (like the cartoonists drawings of Muhammad, saws) then say your piece and let them be. Some people have sick hearts and only God can deal justly with them, as He will in due time.

Is it really founded on killing for spiritual gain?
Absolutely No.

He's merely acting like a guy who's REALLY GOOD at being a muslim. The Koran is FULL of passages encouraging the harm or death of disbelievers. I don't believe the "white=evil" thing is the way most muslims think - from what I can understand, what really makes them mad is that Americans, who dare to not believe in Allah, have somehow become to be a major world power. In other words, it is humiliating to them to see us and our twisted religions or lack thereof have more power than they do. This hatred is much more a fact of life for the Muslim community than you think. Even among the wealthy and educated, it is hard to subscribe at all to the muslim religion and not be inundated from an early age that non-muslims must face the wrath of god.

For those that claiming the Koran says nothing close to what Lala posted:
"God's curse be upon the infidels!" (2:89)
"God is the enemy of the unbelievers." (2:98)
"Do not say that those slain in the cause of God are dead. They are alive, but you are not aware of them." (2:154)
"Slay them wherever you find them. ....If they attack you put them to the sword. Thus shall the unbelievers be rewarded..." (2:190)
"Fighting is obligatory for you, much as you dislike it." (2:216)
"Believers, do not make friends with any but your own people. They (unbelievers) will spare no pains to corrupt you. They desire nothing but your ruin." (3:118)

Sounds like a Lebanese Kurd I know!

My name sounds Jewish so he always is sharp with me about that!

They are very hostile angry people. Very bi-polar.

As to how far they go, I guess it's the internal mechanisms.

One guy here in questions said his girlfriends eye got knocked out by her father, probably, because she was dating him a non-muslim Arab.

That's extreme.

It may also not be true!

My Lebanese Kurdish friend is married to a Catholic Mexican who had a son from another man and he is Mexican Catholic and just as sharp and violeent at the Muslim Lebanse Kurd!

Go figure!

Sum it up:

Hot blooded he man from the domineering class of people.

Men rule in both Latin America and the Middle East

Women are to be seen but not heard

Both cultures are allowed to beat them up, in some instances kill them for certain transgressions with no impunities!

That makes it cultural, not religious.

look.. the person you're dating seems to have issues. it is not an issue of being muslim as much as it is an issue of being *full of hate*. it is unhealthy. there are extremes in every social or religious group, and there's many people who use their religion as a mask for their own hatred (as well as a cure for their own fears).
not all muslims are like him, by the way. different people have different opinions all over the spectrum. in my book, anyone who calls for an entire nation to be wiped off the face of the earth would not make a good partner, but to each their own.

Personally I think there is NO excuse for the mass killings that are going on all over the world - not just in Muslim areas.

I don't want to be preached at here, nor does anyone else - we don't appreciate having anyone's religion shoved down our throats, but I just wanted to voice my opinion on this topic.

No matter how angry he may be both The Bible and The Koran states That hating and killing is wrong.and neither book says hate it states stay away or avoid. So his teaching has left out a lot of things.

There is a verse in "Koran" stating that if a Muslim kills in the name of Islam, he/she will go to heaven. How can you blame them for following their holly book?

sounds to me like he is just racist.
The Qur'an does not say any thing about hating because of color.

lala: you need to go and read the Qur'an.
