Let's get our border built instead, and have a new treaty with Mexico that builds a good cross border law enforcement policy.
No shooting, no chasing, just good deterrence and mutual co-operation. Mexican people have rights, too, human rights if nothing else, and those need to be respected. But, none of that precludes honest, common-sense enforcement of the US/Mexico border, nor does it excuse failure to observe same on the part of either the Mexican government, or the Mexican people.
Good fences make good neighbors, and a US Border Patrol equipped to get people back where they came from the same day they slip through is a capable Border Patrol, and a true deterrent to a growing Mexican/American socio-economic problem. Further, completing the border will prevent 99% of that 'slipping through', and it'll help protect the Border Patrol from coercion/undue influence etc.
It' not only Mexicans that are entering and staying in the US illegally, it's people from all over the world. Proportionally, though, the vast majority are from Mexico.
Note: This does NOT make Mexicans 'evil', nor does it make them 'targets'. Common-sense enforcement measures, the kind that fix problems instead of creating bigger ones, are in order, here. One of those is good-ol', pokey' ol' Neighborhood Watch, believe it or not. Informed citizens that back up their local police departments are one of the BEST deterrents to crime that there are, in this world, Now, through the miracle of digital technology, you can call crimefighter hotlines from just about anywhere in the country. Ain't life grand? LOL Like the Man said, 'work smarter, not harder'. When drug dealers, thieves, human traffickers and the like have no dark corner they can run to anymore, can't find any americans sympathetic to their crap, the interest in coming to our country by such people will drop off dramatically. But, those are just 3 of the kinds of criminals trying to get into the US from Mexico, and until they finally get a handle on their half of such problems(we have our own home-grown ones in america, too), then Something Definite needs to be done about our border with them.
Canada deserves Honorable Mention in all of this, too. People have come in to the US from Canada also, that don't belong on our shores, but they're trying pretty hard these days to clean up their act, exhibiting more effort at any rate than Mexico seems to be.
I don't advocate shooting anyone, not unless it's the last resort.
Some people have a lot of attitude/anger about stuff, and they're ready to go blasting away at the drop of a hat. That's pretty ignorant, and the kind of act that will cause more problems, in the long run, than it'd solve. I think way before you get out the guns, you get out good books on the subject, and really try to learn the subject as thoroughly as you can, and then make your decisions from that. It's the 21st century, with 21st century problems, we need 21st century solutions for em, stands to reason. Then again, the Great Wall Of China's like 2,000 years old, and it was pretty effective...

No. That would be immoral. Plus, there are easier ways to prevent them from doing so if Congress could get their act together. (Although it's too late, they're on August recess) Anyway, these are just people looking for a better life. There's no need to kill them. But there is a need to keep them out. Find another solution, yours is wrong in a number of ways. There is a better solution! But good question.
