I think there are some serious cultural differences here, because my father wouldn't be dumb enough to try and arrange a marriage for me. That's just not done too much in America. I can't say an arranged marriage is bad because I believe they have a lower divorce rate than love matches but that statistic doesn't say if those people are happy. I don't know what to tell you because I don't know what the ramifications of defying your father would be. Good luck.

I would tell my father why I wanted to be with the truthful and handsome man. I would explain that I am in love with him, and that I will not marry based on an arrangement. I would tell my father that I love him, but I am making my own choice and he can either support me or lose me.
