im especially looking for somthing that you can do good video effects on like audio effects and movie effects, E.g slow motion

You will find a list of video editors with ratings and user comments. Anything by Pinnacle, Ulead or Cyberlink will probably be good enough.

Final Cut Studio, mentioned above, it the absolute best as far as editing software goes. Its what most of Hollywood uses. The cons are it only runs on Macs and it costs a bundle. You're probably looking for something like Pinnacle Studio or Roxio Easy Media Creator. These are both relatively inexpensive and can do everything you want. Roxio comes as a suite with several applications to edit video, pictures, and audio, as well as creating DVD menus and chapters, copying, ripping, and burning DVDs and CDs, and a bunch of other stuff.

I've heard good things about AlamDV, it's not free though.
by the way sorry if I spelt the name of the software wrong, it's along those lines.
