You are right in saying that every individual needs to study the Bible for themselves and build their own personal relationship with God. However, you say we cannot help someone else understand the Bible. Are you implying that someone who has gained knowledge of the scriptures should not try to help someone else build their relationship with God? Why, then, are Christians commanded to spread the good news? (Matthew 28:19, 20) Does not this scripture instruct Christians to "teach" other people how to serve God? Please take a look at Act 8:26 - 39. Are we to assume after reading this account that a person should not seek help in understanding the Bible? All of us need help to understand the Bible, and I totally agree that first and foremost we do need God's help and His holy spirit. However, this is not and implication that we cannot also learn from others who are seeking to serve God faithfully. It would be a sign of pride in us to think that we do not need help.

Your right.... The Bible does say go out teach the Good News... Some people believe that when you get saved then that's it.. you got what you need so then everyone else needs to get it for themselves... And you are also right It is a sign of pride to think that we do not need help..God holds people accountable to lead and teach others about his love and kindness... and when we do not do our part then we are in trouble with GOD...

Christians are commanded to spread the gospel to all nations. If a person asks a legitimate question about the Bible and is interested in knowing more about Christ, I would hazard a guess that you will get at least 25 people to help you with your question in a few minutes.
We must learn from each other and say in the Word of God. Many times when I am confused or I feel alone and have no answers at hand, The Holy Spirit will intercede for me and "give me" a scripture or a peace that will allow me to rest until a time when God decides I'm a mature enough Christian to chew on that "meat."
Many times, the ones who teach US are the ones who ask the questions. Praise God for the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

You're right! We learn by reading and asking the Holy Spirit to guide us to understand how He would have us understand and He also teaches us by listening to other people. I learn from my pastor a LOT! He points things out in scripture that I never caught while looking over it myself. We learn from others as well as alone. The Holy Spirit can do what He wants to give us true understanding....; however, we cannot take what others say to heart. We must take that knowledge, pray about it, study the Bible ourselves and determine what it means to us. For instance, touchy subjects such as, tithing, once saved-always saved....these things I listen to others, but read, pray and determine what it means between me and God.

If you beleive in God and someone else also believes and wants your help in understanding the Bible then help. Think for yourself. If you want to join study groups, if you want to explain scripture to others then do it. Don't let others dictate what you can and cannot do.

Christianity is the religion.
There are many denominations of christianity.
Baptists, Evangelicals (that believe in spreading the word and converting people), Methodists, United Methodists, Lutherans, Catholics and many many others.
Not all denomination of Christians tell their followers to CONVERT people and SPREAD THE WORD.
Not all denominations interpret the bible the same way.
I thought you should know this.

We are instructed to learn from those that know more and to teach those that WANT to know but nowhere does it ever say that we should push anything on anyone that does not want to know. That is the key, to teach those that want to know but if they don't want it, shut up and go on to someone that does. Simple as that.
