sure

Play the alphabet game.

Seriously. Its fun. You have to find words otside of the car (on license plates, billoards, city signs, anywhere outside of the car) and like you would say "A- Arizona" Cause you saw the Arizona Highway Patrol sign. And you can do more than one letter per sign and word, but they have to be in alphaetical order, so like you could say ""H- highway, I- Highway -" And then youre stuck on J, lol.

Its a really fun game. I still love to play it. The first one to Z is the winner.

Another game is the name locaton and job game. Its also an alphabet game.

A my name is Amelia Appleton (decide before playing if last names will be required, its harder this way)
I am an Attorney and I live in Anchorage, (Alaska)

You can do just first names, or say that its okay to make up names, just for fun, etc.. Its just a fun game, not really competitive. Just take turns, so if you do A, the next person does B and so on.

Oh and play te 4 legged animal game. Count how many animals you see alog the way with 4 legs. If you choose to only count animals on one side of the road, then you have to stick to it. So if there are 50 -4 legged animals on your friends side of the road, and only 4 on yours, thats the luck of the draw.

you can also make friendship bracelets and lanyards, if your parents dont mind buying a few dollars worth of stuff for you.

You can also play DOTS (look it up) and stuff. ry bringing a wipe off board to play games on, or else you wil be too cluttered.

Have a fun trip!!!

You could read, or try to draw. Drawing is hard because of bumps.

What my sister and I would do when we were kids, was use just pens/pencils and paper to make silly tests for each other. We'd each write out lists of questions (t/f, mult choice, short answer) and instructions to make a drawing, and make up puzzles (jumble or crossword, things like that).

Then we'd each take the test the other had made, and see how well we did; see whether we could answer all the questions correctly, see whether we could follow the directions to get a picture like the other had had in mind, etc.

It was fun because we'd get really silly with the tests sometimes.

The questions would be about anything. Recent news stories, facts about animals, guess what my favorite something-or-other is, multiple choice pick the most yucky thing or person from a list of three, etc. For the pictures we'd usually draw a large square and then under it give instructions for what to draw.

Oh! also, they used to make travel-size boardgames, like connect four and battle ship. Also you could play pictionary without the board; just think a word or phrase, and then try to draw it the best you can so your friend can guess.

When we were younger, we'd bring stuffed animals and make up really silly adventures and stories involving them, but maybe 12 is too old... or maybe not, I don't remember.

Will your mom let you listen to a book on tape or cd? I always enjoyed them on long car rides. Now I just listen to my iPod. You can always play the game where you go down the alphabet and have to find something that starts with that letter (ex: A--Apple tree, B--brown car, C--curb...)

If that doesn't work, start punching and yelling at each other, I bet she'd let you listen to the radio then!

You are going to need a LOT of stuff to do for 12 hrs. Take paper and pens and do silly stuff. Like play tic-tac-toe and hangman and the alphabet game. Sounds like you just need to be creative if your mom wont let you buy anything to take.

You can pretend to sleep, and fake snore while doing so. Eventually the driver will try to make you stop, or try to wake you up. While you fake snore and pretend to sleep, do some wackey things like rolling your window up and down, saying different things, etc.

roll down the windows when you pass a herd of cattle, and yell "hey cow" see how many turn and look at you, then your friend does the same thing at the next herd, and whoever gets the most cows to turn and look, wins.. woopee..

or bring pen and paper and play hangman, draw pictures, tic-tac-toe, or sleep, and when you wake up you'll probably be there..
