Ehh, I very much doubt it. They may be "related," but I highly doubt they're the same species or would suddenly mutate from one into the other... =\
Cucumbers (Cucumis sativus) "belongs to the gourd family" according to encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com / wikipedia, whereas watermelons (Citrullus lanatus) are a climbing/trailing herb that bears a "false berry" fruit. I don't think they're really even related...? They're not even in the same genus, let alone species.
Hmm, methinks not. No watermelon from cucumber... Now, zucchini (Cucurbita pepo) and cucumbers... Also aren't as related as they might seem on first blush either. Darn. Nope, outta' luck on this one...
Sorry.

No, they are two different species. First of all, I believe a watermelon is a fruit and a cucumber is a vegetable. Not like that makes any sense. But, I'm a gardner. Cucumbers are cucumbers and watermelons are watermelons. When you take a cucumber off the vine too early and pickle it in a jar. You get pickles. But, in the end, a pickle is still a small cucumber.

If you leave a cucumber on the vine it will eventually rot, not turn into a watermellon. However since they are close I am sure that there are scinetist somewhere that can cross breed the two and get a plant that looks like a cucumber at the beggining and then develops like a watermellon.

Both are in the Gourd Family, Cucurbitaceae, not only are they different species but different genera as well. Cucumber is a Marah, Watermelon is a Cucurbita. So no one can't become the other, and actually both are fruits.

I don't think they're the same species. If they were, who would ever eat cucumbers if you could just wait a few weeks more and have a watermelon?

I you leave a cucumber on a vine it get bigger, turns yellow and eventually drops off. By this point it will be somewhat soft and squishy and slightly smelly cucumber. Nothing like a water melon.

Both are good for you, each fruit/vegetable has different vitamins. Therefore as more variety, as better. Vegetables have generally less sugar than fruits.

lol...no, they are related but not the same thing. If you leave a cucumber on a vine, it turns into a really large cucumber that is yellow and tastes bitter.

No. I don't think they will even cross polinate. Cucs are more like squashes--and I think they will cross polinate with them, but watermelons are melons and would probably only cross pollinate with other melons. They are two different kinds of plants. Supposedly people and rats are close DNA wise but I doubt that a successful cross breeding could be made even if you wanted to.

The answer is "NO". No matter how big a cucumber gets, it's still a cucumber.
