I made up my very first brisket last week. But I didn't use a marinade, I followed a recipe for a rub that called for paprika, chili powder, cayenne, brown sugar, pinch of salt, cumin, black pepper, & white pepper.
I poked holes in it first, just sort of stabbed it randomly, then I pressed the rub into it. I let it sit overnight in a glass pan with plastic wrap over it, then the next day I dumped it in the crockpot. I cooked it all day long It turned out really good, but I overdid the rub a bit...It was just a bit spicy. But everyone loved it! It was really good. just my own 2 cents

If you can find them, those HUGE 2-gallon zipper bags are great! Slip your brisket in one w/ marinade, zip shut. Then slip that inside a 2nd one. This lets you easily turn it over in the fridge for easy marinating.

Otherwise, use your roasting pot, and flip the meat every coupel hours in the fridge.

It's called "Goya Mojo Crijollo" It is sooooooo good! you can find it in the ethnic aisle at your grocery store. Put it in a container overnight on the brisket and it should be good to broil the next day!
