The tradition is that the top tier is for you to keep for your 1st anniversary.

So if you're making your own cake, you'll need to compensate for that. Usually you create cakes by the size of the pan, so you'd need a 16-20" pan and then one 2-3" smaller in diameter than your bottom layer. If you're doing a square cake, then 2 sheets cut to fit your tiered needs will feed 75 people.

If you're having your cake made for you, just tell them that it's for 75 people and the baker will know the size to make and can give you good decisions.

in case you want the cake to be around i could bake 2 of each and every: 10", 8", and 6". there are various recommendations... you're able to make an excellent oblong cake and appropriate it with a pair of rounds ones. right that's a efficient link.
