She is turning 36 and it is likly that I am going to be the only one to get her anything, since i am the oldest kid and her husband never bothered to memorise how old she was turning or even her birthday. I am only 16 and I have a job but I don't make a lot of money, the most I can spend is about $100, but every time she wants something she buys it for herself, because she makes quite alot of money, I don't really want to make her something and I give her bath and body things and flowers every year. I want something different. I know this is a hard question. So what do you think.

yes he is my dad, but he is sooo self absorbed, and he cheats on my step-mom and she knows it, but he dosn't know she knows, and the other day he told me that I was no longer his child, She dosn't want me to remind him she made me promise not to, she wants him to remember on his own

Think about what she likes.
If jewelry, get her a pin, bracelet, necklace, pendant or earrings. (leave rings to your dad)
If there are household chores she doesn't like to do, make up a coupon book where you will do the various chores for her.
If she keeps photos in a shoebox, get a picture album and fill it with the photos.
Make her a scrapbook.
Buy an MP3 player and fill it with the music she likes.
Anything you make with love she'll like. You do not need to spend a lot of money.
You sound like a very caring, thoughtful stepchild. Whatever you decide will be the right thing.

Get Her a Card... Since she makes a lot of money and spends on herself you don't have to really spend so much. Get some kind of pretty to sit around the house. Give her some flowers.Or make her a special dinner or bake her a cake or something... Call her and wish her a happy birthday..
Hope that helps some....

Depending on the type of relationship you have with her you could always buy her some nice flowers, with a short note or letter telling her how much you appreciate her. Sounds like she needs it. It's not how much you spend on a gift, it's the sentiment that goes with it. Trust me, if you give a sincere gift like this, she will remember it forever because it comes from your heart.

First let me start by saying what a thoughtful person you are!!
Second, her 'husband' never remembers -- your dad?? Remind him!!
OK, does she like massages?? If you have a massage 'school' in your area, it should be around $40.
Does she read specific kinds of books -- if so, get her a pretty basket and place a couple of books inside along with a new teacup and fragrant teas. Around $30+
Hobbies?? Gardening, sewing, etc -- get her a gift basket with 'gadgets' pertaining to her hobby. Around $30+
Good luck sweetie!!

It sounds like you two are close. That's really great.
I think you should take her to a nice lunch. Dress nicely and ask her to dress nicely. After lunch, surprise here with a stop at a photo studio where the two of you can have a portrait made together. Get two prints of it: one for each of you.

It's really hard to answer without knowing your Stepmother, but I do know that cost really doesn't have anything to do with it. Just a card and taking her out to dinner would be very nice. Something from your heart, regardless of how much it costs is always appreciated. Just knowing that you remembered and appreciate her is the best gift of all.
I'm sure you're going to do just fine.
Best Wishes,

It sounds to me like you two could use a "Girls Day Out", think about the things she likes...whether it be a nice lunch out somewhere, a movie, a mani and pedi, a day at the mall...something you two could do together, heck even a day at an amusement park if you are close enough to one.

hello! I think you should take her to a spa and get her a (dont know how to spell) massage. The cheapest is probably about $55. Its great, especially if she has a lot of stress at work or something.

Clean the house for her. Wash and clean her car. Buy her a gift certificate for a perfect night out with your dad.
