I speak from experience from my family my mother became born agin now she gambles, swears like a drunker sailor, puts down other races and religions and tells me I will burn in the pits of hell if this what born again christianity has to offer I am very scared

There must be a confession, Jesus I believe in you. Then you must make a conscious decision that says I will follow you. Romans 10:9-10. Many people take on the first part while ignoring the second. It is called the difference of having a said faith verse a real faith which relates to a relationship with Jesus. Please dont let someone who really has very little insight into the Word of God or Christian living frighten you. She has much to learn about what living for Christ is. There is a book called the Barbarian way by Erwin Mcmanus which relates to the new believer and their "fire" they have burning within.

I have experienced this myself. I have learned that when you become born again the devil will attack you even harder. It is the attack of the devil in your mother's life. There will come a point in a believer's life where they will have to make decisions. If you make the wrong decision, it will lead you down a path of misery and nastiness. I made the wrong decision while in my walk with God. I turned into a alcoholic. I was chasing prostitutes. I was violent. I knew that I was lost, but I did not know how to find my way out of my situation. But at the same time, I knew God was watching over. Eventually, God opened a door for me to come out of what I was doing. Now, I am doing very well in the Lord and getting ready to pastor a church. Do not judge your mother too quickly. The enemy has attacked her because he is afraid of her potential in God.

your mom is a sinner. Born again Christians are not PERFECT!
it is sad that she is behaving in a way which is contradictoryto the teachings of Christ. Please do not look to her as an example and remember that people will fail you, will disappoint you, but your relationship with God is not dependent upon others. talk w/her, tell her you are concerned, that you love her and that it is painful for you to witness her as she is right now. ask her if she is troubled by anything and whether you can help her anyway. kindness will put her at ease and show her that you care.

Don't be scared. You will not burn in the pits of hell because this is hell. We are already in hell. We are here to learn lessons & to teach lessons so that when our spirits go to the other side, we will be on a higher level of Love. God is Love. Only our bodies die. Our spirits never die.
