I would like a consensus of opinion on this violation I received:
Question: Is being bi or gay really that wrong?
Details of Violation: If you are in fact a Christian, it means you believe in the teachings of the Bible. The Bible speaks strongly against the lifestyle you have chosen. Life is all about choices. If you choose a perverted life, you cannot be a true Christian. If you choose to be a Christian, you cannot live a perverted lifestyle. This is what the Bible says. It is your choice.
Reason of Violation:Insulting Other Participants
Perhaps I'm wrong, but it seems to me the "insulted" individual should post his complaint to God for having caused the Bible to be written. What do you guys think?

I would remind everyone that I did in fact reference the Bible for the answer I gave. Without getting deeply into quotations, and staying only with the New Testament, I direct you to Romans 1:27, and Jude 1:7 which clearly use the word perversion.

Yes we have reached that point. Facts don't matter so much as people's reaction.
Your answer was legit. Some folks may disagree w/ it, but that doesn't mean you were insulting. I thought this forum was about getting differing opinions to help sort out real answers.
So much for tolerance.
And the person who called you a bigot? Try looking up the word some time. Right back at you pal.

You are calling gays perverted which is an insult. Perhaps if you had interjected some of the other things which the Bible is against such as eating shell fish and called that perverted also it wouldn't seem so much like finger pointing. I think people should pay more attention to the new testament myself.

No, you insulted him when you called him "perverted." And in fact, he was not reading the Bible; you were conveying a Biblical quotation to him. It's as if I said, "Oh you're gay? My friend thinks gays are perverts (and I agree with everything my friend says)."
But it does seem a bit of a mild insult to report.

I personally do not consider the overall question insulting other participants.
To me, 'insulting other participants' is going "Anyone who is a [insert race, gender, creed or belief here] is a slimy-sided, silt-eating, frog-mouthed toad with the mental agility of a small soap dish."
Something extrovertedly crass.
Someone may have taken umbrage with the term "perverted".
You could have stated "a lifestyle not in concert with the Bible and its teachings.", gotten your point across and avoided this controversy altogether

It's not only the perversion comment. You also insinuated that Homosexuality is a choice. Most of us feel this trivializes the emotional, social, and spiritual baggage that comes with being gay.

Bible should be rated "R" at least and prohibited in any public places.
Childrens should not even know word Bible.
If we combine all crime that ever commmited , all terrorism , its still not enough to cover just the Genses part in the bible.
Bible is violent, XXX rated book. Sex with torture is explained in details in bible. What else do you expect.

I think you're trying to justify your bigotry. Won't work pal.
Next you'll be telling us that the holocaust never happened.
Grow up. The bible is an outdated and utterly irrelevant book of bronze-age jewish mythology. Nothing more.

I think you're right. While I don't agree with the Bible at ALL, it's just stating facts...per those writings, it's wrong....and that's how the Christian faith views it technically. I think it's BS.

I don't report people, but it _is _ an insult. In fact, the Bible itself is an insult to many people.
We are forbidden from insulting other participants. I wouldn't have reported it, but in my opinion the person who did is within his or her rights to have reported you.

I think YOU are stupid - but I think the answer was fair to your beliefs. I would not have reported you. And that last point didn't make any sense - I mean where is this guy going to 'post his complaint to God'?
