Hey, good question. As a multi-generational Angelino, I blush to admit I didn't know. So at Wikipedia, under an article entitled "Etymologies of place names in Los Angeles, California" It says that Crenshaw was named after someone named George Crenshaw, but there is no entry about the guy. At least it's a start, right?
