except the 4 year old doesnt take naps and the 1 year old is always cranky and biting or hiting

wake them up early take them for walks have them play out side fresh air tires them out try not giving them naps wear there lil butts out after super anice bath pjs a snack and tv they will be out like a lite for the one that bites bite him back not hard and dont give into the tears ..has a neice that bit my son..he bit her back ... she didnt bite him again

Well Spongebob works pretty well or a Popsicle. Find something that they both like & entertain them with that. Playing outside is quite entertaining for kids that age, swing set, trampolene, etc...
Oh & juice helps out alot always have a juice cup handy. A slap on the hand & a no no should help with hitting & biting or a timeout.

Pure Talent. The 4 year old fun activity only they can do. The one year old seperate activity. Something that makes them each feel special. I run a home day care, These usually work for those ages for me. But every child is differant.

no such thing. okay just kidding, are we talking about just for a minute or two, long enough for a cup of coffee? because seriously, you can't possibly be expecting more than that.
Now mom, what you should be considering instead, should be whom is available to give me a break and for how long, then take it and ENJOY.

Crafts. Get the Crayola Mess-free markers and let them go to town. They are non-toxic and they only draw on the special paper.

take em outside and let em play in the water..it'll wear them out then maybe they could take a nap

give them a popcicle
let them watch a video
tell them to shush
give them a detailed project to do like coloring or painting
