You should stop and think about the reasons why your family hates him/her. Have you ever considered that maybe your family is right? This is just me speaking on past experience of guys I dated while in high school, mostly complete douche-bags that my father hated. But back then I thought, oh he doesn't know him like I do, or he doesn't see how sweet he is when we are alone or whatever. But low and behold, my father was right. It just took me years and several heart-wrenching experiences to figure it out.
However, if your family hates this person for petty and/or unjustified reasons, there is no reason why you shouldn't try to stick it out.
To answer your question: Yes, sometimes love ISN'T enough.

yes,you are absolutely right!!you know what you want in life and what makes you happy but at the same time you should also rule out any possibility of doubt, get to know the reason behind the family's denial and analyze how far that is acceptable and then take an apt decision.........
ya,one thing is true that no body can stop you from being with who you want to be,decision is yours are you making the right choice,is the person worth annoying the entire family for?this is what you have to decide.......good luck!!

In reality its down to the two, but, outside feelings do influence judgements at time, for instance, A lot of times long distance relationships dont work out because your not physically together alot (not sex I mean just being together) and so outside influences are strongly against a successful relationship, also, if you are constantly pitted against people about your love interest eventually you might start to believe the hype. Rumors and gossip are extremely dangerous.....Be careful in your resolution to be in love because sometimes outsiders see you both from another angle and see things you might miss or dismiss.....its still boils down to your life, just be careful....

Love is only enough if the two people who love eachother REALLY do love eachother, and then that love can and will get you through anything! :) But yes, saddly, in some cases, love is not enough to hold a couple together when the wether around them gets rough.

It is still possible, but not probable. You have to think about the big picture. If you get married, where will you go for holidays? You cant be with your family. What about when you want to visit mom and dad, you have to leave him behind. Love is worth everything you can put into it, but unfortunatly you have to think about what you are willing to give up.

Love is amazing & if you have found the one you truely want to spend your life with than everything is worth it. Live your life & don't change or worry about what people say because life is too short & you should live happy.Good Luck!

first off, your family wouldnt hate him if he was a nice guy, no ofense but he must have done something bad, sometimes when ur in love you dont see the things that he is doing to harm you. my fam hates my man too, and they have a reason, hes an as$hole! but only you can decide if its worth it to continue to be with him!

I have the same problem you have and i know is not easy.
I love my boyfriend very much and he knows i do anything for him. One thing that you have to make sure is that your partner is wiling to do the same thins if he or she were to be in your position.
