His ball was pretty far from the hole, and not in my line, but I was putting down a ridge, and the ball went way right and hit his ball.

He is, if you are both on the green, he was suppose to mark his ball before your putt.

You for not making sure he had marked the ball, or being so crap that you hit it when it's not between you and the hole.

The player who putted gets a 2 stroke penalty in stroke play. There is no penalty in match play. (USGA Rule 19-5a)

The ball that got hit must be replaced. (USGA Rule 18-5)
