You can easily get away with spending little money if you're on a budget. There's always a cheap taco stand nearby if your looking to stay authetic to LA and avoid fast food. Check out the Getty Center - it's free to get in (parking is $7 or so) and has amazing views of the city. Walk around Venice Beach for free. And pick up cheap souveniers and snacks on the boardwalk. Walking around Hollywood, and even Rodeo Drive - also free. Although getting to all these places isn't easy - public transportation sucks and dirivng is even worse!

On the contrary, you could easily spend a ton of money if you want to/can. There are some amazing restaurants, bars, theaters, spas, and attractions that are quite costly.

Depends on the plans you are going to do. Hopefully you are meeting someone there. If you are going to Disney residents can get discounts you cant. (200 min there I would suspect unless you dont eat or want any souvineers in which case I think it is 50 or so for the tickets to both parks) Beaches are free, dont forget your suntan lotion. And if you are going partying, expect at least 50 for each night of that. Unless you are a hot, then you drinks may be free. Basically as much as you can afford to bring them split according to your plans. And do yourself a favor plan one lazy day for the week or you will need a vacation after your vacation.

Not a heck of a lot, maybe about $100. If I thought I was going to do any major spending or going out a lot, I'd just have a credit card or debit card with me. I don't think it's a good idea to carry a lot of cash when travelling.
