For Pro Life people - Why does it seem that a lot of pro lifers complain about population growth, economic issues caused by population growth yet they seem very hell bent on keeping a woman from aborting. That would be one less person on earth to add to the population growth and economic issues. Funny how it's ok to take away a persons choice and then complain when there's too many humans on this planet and in this country, wow, mind bender.

Pro-Choice is Pro-DEATH.

Innocent blood.

Pro 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
Pro 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
Pro 6:18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
Pro 6:19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

You wrote: "pro lifers complain about population growth, economic issues caused by population growth yet they seem very hell bent on keeping a woman from aborting. " I you have the cites where you got that information, could you please add them to the "details" of you question? Thanks!

Next, if murder was the method of "lessening" the population, then murder would not be against the law. But it is. We just don't have the judges or the law enforcement personnel with the courage to enforce the laws already on the books with regard to murder.

Now, I'm not quite sure, but isn't the position of "pro-choice" the woman's right to choose abortion or NOT to have an abortion? If that is the case, why isn't there equal encouragement on the part of the pro-choice people to NOT have an abortion?

I am gathering from your question that you see abortion as a form of birth control and population growth deterent. Is that correct?

When, in fact, the woman's right to choose comes before she lays down with man and has sex. She can choose whether or not to have sex if that sex is unprotected, or she can choose to have sex and get pregnant. I am reading in your question that you see abortion is a method of "I can be a hooker or a prostitute or a whore if I want because I don't have to be inconvenienced with a child. I can just kill it!"

If you are so concerned about the population of the world, I suggest you stop having sex. We know for a fact that if you do not have sex you will not get pregnant at all. If you do not get pregnant, then you will be champion of you cause in lessening the world's population.

Since your question did not bring up the instance of rape for abortion, then I will......very rarely----VERY RARELY---are there instances when a woman gets pregnant during a rape. God made our bodies to close off, make the canal too acidic, and several other methods I do not have to memory at this time. If a child is conceived through rape, then the child should be carried to term and put up for adoption. The child is not the sinful person in that act. The child should not be sentenced to death because his father raped his mother. God tells us that children will not have to pay for the sins of the father.

i think you're making an assumption that all pro-lifers, complain about population growth. i've really found no correlation between the two and have never personally met a pro-lifer complain about that. So can't answer that for everyone else. To be pro-life is also to really value the value of life because God has created life. So even if we can all agree that sometimes traffic is crowded, the mall is crowded, that's not a justification to say the earth would be better off with one less person.

in terms of Abortion yes- there is a strong Biblical basis to not abort. But i think the reason to not abort is not to take away life. i know that are extreme situations like rape, and single mother's in difficult economic situations, but there are alternatives like adoption, etc. (i have several friends who have adopted and the baby lives to have a great life). i've also had friends who have aborted and the guilt has really scarred their lives and affected their other relationships.

Personally as a Christian i understand God does not want people to abort and i think as i've seen people hurt by abortion i can understand why He has given us such instruction to keep people from harming themselves and the potential baby.

In terms of your argument abortion and population growth are two different topics. i think you're entertaining a stereotype that is completely unfounded...

I will start quick I am no Christian I think this is a defunct religion. That said I oppose abortion , War, and the death penalty. Why? Because it is all taking of human life. The abortion issue needs to me anyway to be understood that if a sperm is living and an egg is living and they form together then this is a life plain and simple. I think that the rights of the baby fall in line with he Declaration of Independence in the form of the babies right to life , liberty and the pursuit of happiness. If you are so worried about economic issues let us talk about having a living wage in this country and universal health insurance. Also, there are many people out there that are unable to have children that would gladly adopt and unwanted child to keep it from being murdered by the doctor, mother , and the state. I am hoping although I do not like the guys that are now on the Supreme court I am hoping that this issue will be turned back to the states for the people that live there to vote on this issue and not to have some judge tell me his ideas of moral values.

I'm impressed that you asked BOTH halves of the question - you seem like you really want answers, and not just to vent. :)

Here's a lot of thoughts I've had:

I think both sides of the debate talk past each other without listening to issues rasied by the other. The pro-choice focuses on the woman only, and the pro-life focuses on the fetus only.

I think the strongest argument for a pro-choice abortion stance is the desire of a woman to control her own body. If abortion were illegal, what would the penalty be? Would we have to lock up a pregnant woman who threatened to leave the country and have an abortion? Is society ready to do this? Should it even consider it?

I think the weakest argument for pro-choice is the one you identified - "who will take care of these unwanted people?" If that's the criterion, we could clear out all the "unwanted" people in homeless shelters, retirement homes, prisons, mental hospitals, AIDS hospices, etc. very quickly. Imagine people saying "let me terminate my Grandpa beacuse we don't want him, unless YOU take care of him!" Is society ready to do this? Should it even consider it?

It's a hard issue. I tried to present both sides. I hope others don't just "flame" you. Good luck.

The people I usually hear complaining about population growth are also pro-choice.

If you are bored, look into the history of Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood.

She originally founded the organization to put a check on the black population because she believed blacks were reproducing faster than (what she considered to be) more advanced, intelligent white babies.

I am not making this up.

"Sanger was a proponent of eugenics, a social philosophy claiming that human hereditary traits can be improved through social intervention. Methods of social intervention (targeted at those seen as "genetically unfit") advocated by eugenists have included selective breeding, sterilization, and euthanasia. In 1932, for example, Sanger argued for:

"A stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is already tainted or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring."(citation below)

I've been involved with the Pro-Life movement for nearly 20 years. In that time, I have never heard anyone say anything about over-population. I've also never heard anyone talk about bombing abortion clinics or killing abortion providers. These are the kinds of ideas that come from the media - not the pro-life movement.
And it's not a choice - it's a child.

Huh? I've never heard of pro-lifers always complaining about population growth. It's the pro-aborts who do that.

It's not about keeping women from their rights. It's about protecting the rights of the babies.

i'm the two. i think ferociously in a woman's top to decide for abortion if that's what she feels is sweet for her. My decision has continually been to no longer have an abortion if I had ever gotten pregnant, with the aid of fact i'm no longer good adequate to stay with the guilt i might experience. I even have super understand for the ladies who've long previous via this and stay with that guilt on a daily basis. I even have confidence that fetuses do no longer advance into religious "human beings" (i.e., with the soul intact) until start. they'd see and pay attention and experience, in keeping with possibility, however the soul isn't modern-day until top before start. in case you think that the soul is modern-day from the 2nd of thought, think of commencing a hearth with 2 fits and not something (the hearth metaphorically being the "Divine Spark," or soul, and the two fits being the sperm and the egg). it might burn out very almost at modern-day for loss of gas. interior the comparable way which you prepare charcoal briquets or wood for a hearth before you upload the flame, the human physique must be bodily and emotionally waiting for the addition of the Soul. and that i think the ability of the Divine spark is so super that it might kill or overpower any fetus if it have been to reach too early. hence this is my perception that having an abortion interior the protection time-limits set via docs isn't homicide--it is not killing a human soul. i don't be responsive to the place the belief of eating fetuses comes from interior of you, yet you sound fairly offended. this is beneficial to look at why this is.
