That's pretty weird. I've never heard anything like that. It is, after all, one of the ten commandments.
Sounds like a slippery slope to me! If we repeal the Sabbath law, next thing you know people will be wanting to dishonour their parents, make graven images and covet their neighbour's ***!
Where will it all stop...? Mrs. Paige was right all along!

The Sabbath was a part of the Old Testament covenant. It took place on the seventh day of the week, what we know as Saturday, and was observed as a day off from work for humans and animals.
Sunday, or the Lord's Day, begins in the New Testament and is a day of worship. There is no cessation of work mandated in Sunday observance, although laws beginning from the time of Constantine mandated Sunday closure of businesses.
Basically Sabbath and Sunday are two different types of observance, but they tend to get mixed up in people's minds.

No, we should still follow the Law about not working on Sunday . What that means is that we don't need 2 celebrate Old Testament holidays like the Festival of Shelters. I learned this from this show called, " Amazing Facts ," on 6,7,& 8 A.M. Sunday mornings.

The new rules about the sabbath, applies to kings/priests, which all Christians are supposed to be. I think it applied to rabbis too, way back when. A serious question; do rabbis get paid for sabbath services? That being their job and all...

Eph 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an end to the law with all its commands and rules. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them.
Gal 2:16 We know that no one is made right with God by obeying the law. It is by believing in Jesus Christ. So we too have put our faith in Christ Jesus. That is so we can be made right with God by believing in Christ, not by obeying the law. No one can be made right with God by obeying the law.
Gal 2:21 I do not get rid of the grace of God. What if a person could become right with God by obeying the law? Then Christ died for nothing!
.... What does scripture tell us? The law is nothing and trying to follow it is wrong.

If we were still under that law, then we'd still be having to make animal sacrifices. Same thing goes for tithing... but many churches still hold to that just so they can get money. Next time a church is all about tithing (however you spell it)... ask them where the sheep are to sacrifice cause if they want to keep that part of the Mosaic law they should keep all of it.. right?

Its up to ones own conscience regard to obey the letter of the law or the spirit of it. Therefore, its not necessary to rest on sundays but one day of the week.
