To immigrate to Canada you must apply as a skilled worker, professional worker, family status, or refugee. I know that for a skilled worker you have to pass an immigration test to see if you qualify, you need a minimum of 66 points to be considered. Check out the governments website for more information.

As for Germany...you can't immigrate to Germany. You can live here under a work or student visa and that's pretty much it. I order to stay in Germany permanently you have to marry a German National and it takes about 4 years before you are allowed to stay forever without reapplying for permission. In my case I married a German citizen in '98 and my 'Aufenthaltstitel' - stay title - was good until the end of 2001, In 2002 I was granted a 'unbefristet' 'Aufenthaltstitel' which means there is no expiry date on my Stay titel.

To find out how to immigrate to Germany, you'll have to contact someone in Germany. To immigrate to Canada, you need certain documents and some indication of how you will support yourself here.
Much of this depends on your own background, so check with the Canadian Consulate nearest to you and find out exactly what the requirements will be for you to immigrate.
good luck

You would apply for a visa. The type of visa you apply for would depend on your profession. It would also depend where you're coming from.

There are lotteries to get into the US, Australia and New Zealand if you have a sought after profession. It must be similar in Canada.

Good luck.

If you have proof of a german lineage (I believe it is 25% or more) you are free to apply and become a German citizen.
