No child that was offered food ever starved to death. It's normal for her. Keep at it, offering, but not insisting. It's probably a game to her.

Is it everything, or just certain textures? It may be just that she learned something new and likes to do it, or likes your reaction. Try different textured things and see if she is more likely to do it with certain things. Is she still getting baby food, or more mushy things? Maybe she is ready to graduate to slightly firmer foods... One more suggestion that i have is that if you are concerned about the nutrition aspect of it, make sure to give her higher-calorie foods first so that at least if she eats a little bit at first, she is getting what she needs and won't start losing weight. Talk to your doctor if it lasts for more than a few days, in case there is some other reason for her not eating.

Most babies do this mine certainly did, they go through phases where they will eat one thing then they will totally hate it for one reason or another, but they will eat when they are hungry . In the meantime be patient it gets easier, as they get older mine is a little over 2 and believe me they will let you know what they want, just keep trying, if you are feeding her strained baby foods try something with a little more texture sometimes that works, offer a variety of different things something is bound to get her attention!

She may have a problem with textures of the foods. Try giving her some adult food. She's gonna be a toddler soon and I was feeding my son some table foods at 6 months. As long as it doesn't potentially choke her or is not too spicy-----I would try table food. Or change the brand of baby food.Or get a food processor and make your own (I did that, too).

Stop feeding her yourself -- she is showing her independence, she wants to feed herself. Cut her food into little bites or use Cheerios, etc and let her choose what to eat, have patience, she will not die if she eats less right now, she is probably getting ready to grow -- my kids got REAL picky about a month before they 'sprouted'.

Does she spit the food out deliberately? It could be the result of some digestive problem. Better see a ped.

when she does it put the food away. It could also be that she is ready for table food. Start with diced well-cooked carrots, peas, shredded cheese, cheerios, or gerber fruit puffs. Let her pick it up on her own.

is she teething? that may be making it painful for her to chew. try putting some numbing gel on her gums before she eats, and give her ice cubes tied up in a washcloth to chew on.
