Damn, I never thought of that.

Can I add on to this question:
I'm a scientist, so my work involves thinking.

How shall I stop thinking on the sabbath so as not to work?

Hey, I'm so happy that Morgaine told us that the 10 Commandments don't apply anymore. Cool. Then there's no problems taking down all of the displays.

Working on Sunday is not a sin. But you should find at least a day to rest during the week so you can spend time with the Lord. Now that Jesus Christ has came we have entered into the type of Sabbath where everyday is the Sabbath. The Sabbath that existed in the Old Testement was just a shadow of the one to come which is now fulfill is Christ Jesus. He said, " I am not come to destroy the Law, but I am the fulfillment of the Law".

No, because the Bible never says that thinking about it is a sin.

But Jesus does say that when a man even looks at a woman with lust in his heart, he has committed adultery with her in his heart.

So, thinking about working on the Sabbath and thinking about lustful acts are not the same thing.

The Sabbath is not practiced in the literal anymore to demonstrate a day of rest at the end of six days of work. Now the Sabbath is a day of instruction.

Your sabbath day could be any day of the week. God never said that the Sabbath had to be a Saturday or a Sunday, he only said that we need to rest one out of every seven days. That is how we honor God. Now to answer your question, if you have already dedicated the day to God, and you think about working on it, you are taking your gift to God back. That would classify itself as a sin.

We're not under the law anymore, friend, we are under grace.

It is between you and God.

Look at it this way, specific acts of "sin" like lying and stealing are only symptoms of the underlying disease of Sin. Sin is rebellion against God and rejection of his ways... all the acts that result from this disease (like murder, hatred, anger etc.) are merely signs that there is a problem.

You can treat the symptoms of the disease, or you can treat the disease itself... asking if thinking about working is a sin, well who cares? The real problem is the Sin. You can work or not work or think or not think and that might stop your sin but it wouldn't cure your Sin.

Jesus Christ's death on the cross is the only cure for Sin that God has given us. Once we treat the disease, the symptoms take care of themselves :)

I hope this helps you!

We dont have to keep the sabbath anymore. That was from the law of Moses.

Gal. 4:9-10
9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years

No, it's not a sin because to think of a sin is not the same as comitting a sin. However you will transgress the rules of the shabbat by making action of your thought. Most Rabbis would agree with this. ;)
