proove to them you are responiable by taking care of yourself and your things, clean your room help your parents out with house chores. though you aren't guarenteed you will get your way. I wanted a pet my whole life I said I would buy a hampster with my own money and take care of it all by myself and they still wouldn't let me. so just start saving your money so when you move out of your parents house you can get a kitten.

Well get a stuffed animal kitten and tell your parents that you will take care of it for a week or so giving it food and water (fake) in the morning, afternoon, and at night. Showing it the litter box (any box in the house) to the kitten. Then do lots of stuff around the house like vacuuming, sweeping, doing the dishes, stuff like that. Then after the week or the period of time your doing this ask them again reminding them on all the work you did and how you took care of it. Oh and if you have any questions email me at jasminekirsh159@yahoo.com

Ask to take on more responsibilities around the house or do things (like help clean up, etc.) without asking. This may convince your parents that you can take on the task of caring for a pet. But give them time to consider it. Dont ask repeatedly for the pet, make suddle intensions, like drawing pictures of kittens or even making a collage from a pet magazine. This will let them know that your trying harder to become a pet owner.

They said no. They are the ones who have to pay the vet bills, pay for the food, shots, etc. I'm telling you my puppy had some tummy trouble and the vet bill was $400. Then he had to get his shots and it was another $400.

Wait till you move out of the house and you can have all the pets you can take care of.

first, show them you're responsible enough. do your chores w/o them having to nag you about it. even insist on doing some extra things around the house.
then, find a friend that has a cat and convince their mom to tell you parents about having a cat.
also tell them that it would be a great oppurtunity to take care for another living creature. good luck =)

You should write down everything you will do for this pet. But you have to prove that you are responsible enough to handle it too. Don't give up, but don't pester them either. Save up some money for the vet stuff and see what they say.

You must first and formost show your parents that you are a responsible person, and this can take some time, when they know you are a responsible person asking them will be very easy, and you should ask your parents if either of them has ever had a bad experience with a cat. this can alter there judgement.

If they don't like kittens then say you will never ever let them see it or it's poop and pee and that you will be the only one to take care of it or you promise to get rid of it. That worked for getting a dog!!!

Whatever parent is the most likely to give in, take them to meet the kitten. Pick it up and give them to it. (Say something exaggerate like "It will DIE without me!") Most people cannot resist the cuteness of a kitten when its right in their face!
