The same places you can find ANY furniture. The differnce lies in how you select the pieces you really, really need.
For instance, you won't have a separate bedroom for your bed and for storing your clothes and things. You might look for furniture that doubles in function, such as a couch that folds out into a bed, or a daybed, with storage underneath.
A nice armoire or wardrobe can be a nice looking piece of furniture that you use to store things. There are tables that fold up against a wall, and desks that have the writing/typing surface folding up when not in use. Folding leaf or drop leaf tables and dinettes save space and can be made larger if needed.
Studio living is a matter of being clever. You don't need to spend a lot of money, if you don't want. And consider, your budget can reach the nicer items, since you don't have to purchase several rooms full of furniture.
If your location has an IKEA store, you can find, literally thousands of items, easy to coordinate and NOT cost you varioius part of your body.

Why not try Super Wal-mart or Super Target? They have a lot of good ideas for furniture and storage. You can go with wood or white. I bought some of my daughters college things there and they lasted quite a while. The trick is to buy something that you can use for more than one thing. Example, An armoir can be used for you TV, VCR, etc and the drawers underneath it can be used for clothing. A trunk (like Pier 1 wicker) can be used as a coffee table or at the end of your bed to sit on and hold extra blankets and pillows. Don't over crowd, just make each piece work for you.

If you are strapped for cash, I'd try flea markets and thrift stores. You can find some cool stuff there that won't break the bank.
