MY SON GOT ARRESTED TODAY FOR THROWING EGGS AT A FAT GIRL FROM HIS SCHOOL. I THINK HE LEARNED THIS BEHAVIOR FROM ME. SHOULD I PUNISH HIM OR PRAISE HIM??

How'd he get arrested? Did he stand there high fiving his buddies instead of running? I mean its funny laughing at fat girls blubber, but theres a time and a place for everything.
So don't punish him. Instruct him that when he hears sirens its time to boogie. He can laugh and high five later.

well if he got this type of behavior from you(his father-parenting role model) he thinks its okay and he did nothing wrong. I think you need to tak parenting classes or something, or next time it will be something lot worse than throwing eggs at someone. Definatly not praise him, but i think punishing him would help, if it is an actuall punishment. Is there a mother involved, or another family member, school counselor. I hope you get the help you and you boy needs or you have a long bumpy road in front of you.

Unless you want him to continue this behavior do not praise him! What you need to do is punish him, even though he may be learning the behavior from you you need to become a role model! Change your ways so that you can lead by example! Kids are a product of their environment! And what he did is not acceptable at all! It is rude mean and cruel, how do you think that girl he threw the eggs at feels?

Punish him severely for not being more inventive with his pHAt girl attacks... you also should be punished for not giving him more entertaining ideas For example - take him to the bait and tackle shop - and buy him a rod and reel - set the bait with a ho ho or Twinkies, German chocolate cake, etc.etc. , set the bait on top a 1/4 60# stainless hook - and then cast - you'll have to teach him how to remove the hook without being bitten - and instruct him how to safely release his catch - the next day will only result in a bigger catch often the same as before - but only bigger after a fortnight or two of nursing her wounds at the reefer -

Never praise him but instead reinforce the reasdn why he's in trouble. Let him know how wrong his actions were and also the fact that he probably left a scar on someone for the rest of thrie life. Remember that bullying in all forms is against the law.

I think you should seek counseling and take a parenting class. As for the child punish him and also explain to him your actions were wrong. Children learn from example...think next time before you act !

You should never praise this kind of behavoir, if you think he got enough punishment from it, let that be it, but dont praise him for it. It doesnt help that he might have gotten that kind of behavoir from you, but it would be totally confusing to your son if your punishing him for it and your doing it yourself. Children learn from you, you dont like it, dont act like it youself.
