what is it called when you BELIEVE in god, but you don't think he's that great and choose not to worship him?

when people say i'm an atheist, i say, no- i believe in god, but i can't think of what my belief system is called...

i don't worship satan either, he's just as lame...

Well, you have your choice of
1= theism-do believe in God and worship him
2= atheism-don't believe in God/don't worship him
3= agnosticism-don't know whether he exists/don't worship him

Since you DO believe in God, it cannot be 2 or 3. You are a theist (1). Just because you choose not to worship him, doesn't mean you don't believe he's there. Your beliefs are the same as any other theist, so that doesn't change. You are a non-worshipping theist.

When someone worships something other than God, it's called Idolatry. And if there are only two beings out there, God and Satan, and someone chooses not to worship God, they are, by default, choosing to worship Satan.

Sounds like you're a good candidate for Unitarian Universalism, a denomination that includes people of many diverse faiths as well as people of reason.

Rather than require you to adapt your beliefs to someone else's code, they'll help you explore your own beliefs.
