Carbohydrates are basically sugars. Where might you find them you ask? In just about everything excluding Meat, Eggs, and some veggies.
• Garlic (1 clove) :
• Leaf lettuce (1 leaf):
• Kale (½ cup raw):
• Onion (1 tablespoon):
• Iceberg lettuce:
• Spinach (½ cup raw):
• Broccoli (½ cup raw):
• Red bell pepper (½ cup raw):
• Brussels sprouts (½ cup):
• Beets (½ cup):
• Cauliflower (½ cup):
• Eggplant (½ cup):
• Celery (½ cup raw):
• Cabbage (½ cup):
• Green beans (½ cup):
• Cucumber (½ cup raw):
You canot completely exclude carbs from your diet for they are a main source of energy and that is why it normally makes up 60% of our daily needs and nutritional values.
You will lose weight but keep in mind that you might get sick of basically eating plain meat and veggies for the rest of your life and you can't just decifde to eat all the carbs you want one day, you'll gain it all back.
If you gradually add on 10 carbs a week you''ll be fine though.
Try to eat lean meats as well because you don't want your cholesterol (a fatty substance in your liver) to increase.
I will give you a site for the atkins diet for your weight loss needs. There are different stages but no where do they completely say NO carbs. Just low amounts.

Your body has to have some carbs!!! You can seriously damage your heart by going without carbs. Carbohydrates are what give your body energy. They turn into sugars and when you are not burning enough energy to get rid of that sugar, they turn into fat. Anything that has sugar in it has carbohydrates. Breads, pastas, fruits. One good way is to look at food labels. they will list the amount of carbohydrates in each serving. Small apples, small potatoes, 1/2 cup of corn, 1/2 cup peas, 1/2 cup beans (green beans are free - no carbs) generally have around 15 carbs. see if you can find a nutrionist who can give you a hand out of what the carb count is in fresh veggies, etc.
Being diabetic, i have to watch my carbs and try to lose weight. I am small statured and a female, so to lose weight I have been eating 45 carbs per meal, and two 15 carb snacks throughout the day. If you are male or taller statured, you need to have more. (I think up to 60 per meal, but I am not sure).
I have been losing a pound a week doing this and have lost over 20 pounds. It isn't fast, but it is certainly healthier and I still get to eat what I want, just not as much. (Ex: 1 smaller sized slice of thin crust pizza is roughly 15 carbs)
There is a bread on the market that only has 9 g of carbs per slice.
i hope this helps you & good luck to you!

If you don't eat any carbs at all you will spill key-tones, your body uses carbs to make energy. You don't want to spill key-tones because you can become sick by doing that. Instead limit your carb intake. Try smaller portions, High carbs foods would be rice, potatoes, bread, pasta, corn, peas, carrots and some fruits. Try and avoid the empty carbs found in junk foods like, potato chips, snack crackers, etc. Check the link below it will give you the carb count for many foods. A healthy low carb diet and a good exercise program will help you lose weight and stay healthy.

The only stupid question is the one you never ask (i use to tell my guitar students that). While it is true that you can find carbohydrate info on virtually any packageBarring that a short list: rice, pasta, potatoes, oatmeal and any grain for that matter, junk foods and even milk.Don't try to completely eliminate carbs because that's almost impossible.Just cut back on them especially later in the day and do not eat them before bed.Lean meats and fish are good subs but you should still eat fruits and vegetables.Fiber is a carbohydrate but has no impact on your blood sugar so you can have fiber.Your body can still produce glucose from fat and protein through gluconeogenisis so don't listen to anyone who says you'll die without carbs.Just cut back and split your meals into 6 a day with smaller portions. There are no naturally occurring carbohydrates in meat.Only if it's added during processing.

You're not stupid. Carbohydrates are what your body needs to make energy. Grains are a complex carbohydrate, and sugar is a simple one. The reason a low carb diet works is because you aren't giving your body the carbs it needs, so it uses reserves, e.g., your fat, to run on. But you also need to eat lost of protein (meat, eggs, dairy and nuts) The food label tells you how many carbs are in a serving. Usually, you want to start a low carb diet eating 30 carbs or less per day.

Fiber is a form of carbohydrates -- but they're not typically counted as carbs -- most people on the carb diet will subtract fiber from the total number of carbs. Meats, and most veggies have few carbs . . . although -- your energy comes from carbohydrates -- doing this for too long could have some not pleasant effects.

Rice, apples, pasta, and I think carrots, and I hate to say this but alcohol is also a carb.,
You don't have to cut them out all together, just make sure that the amount on you plate is balanced, say a quarter is protein, a quarter is carbohydrate and a half made up of green vegetables.
Exercise is just as important, the key is to eat less calories than your body uses.
Good luck.

Actually, you need carbs. Just avoid the bad ones! Good carbs include whole wheat bread and pasta and fruit. If you omit the good carbs, you wont be healthy.
