Has anyone had their tonsils and v.p.p. (the little danglie thing in the back of your throat) removed? My husband had this surgery on thursday and still is not feeling well..... his voice is still "funny" and he has 0 energy? Can anyone give me some feed back? thank you!!!!

He's going to be tired -- older people have prolonged effects of anesthesia (I work in the rehab department of a nursing home -- I know all about the anesthesia and older people) . . . increase his water intake -- the water will help move nutrients around, and rid the body of those nasty meds.

Typically, the older you are, the worse you do, with surgery -- you also need more time to recover. Nurse him back to health -- he'll get there. It'll just take him a little while.

It's hard on anyone who isn't a kid, I had mine out at 25 and was in excruciating pain for about 9 days and sounded like a chipmunk for a couple weeks. It just takes your body awhile to recover from the anesthesia, and it just flat out hurts.

I am 65 yrs old , my left tonsil has infection coming from it, I am going to have them removed Aug 19th how painful will this be?

well he just got a body part cut off. you'd be tired to.
