The designers are making matching dresses for the flower girl. I wasn't aware of it until I saw a miniature version of my dress. I think it'd be cute, but I do wonder if it's too much.

My dress is strapless, however, the version for the flower girl does have straps.

It is a common trend. Don't worry about it. If you like it, it is fine. I'm glad hers has straps, though. That is more appropriate. My flower girl's dress doesn't look like mine but it matches the color (light gold) and the bridesmaids are in burgundy with a gold under-shimmer. You can have whatever you want. I think having the same dress is very cute, the only thing I'd worry about is her stealing the show. ;)

I think it depends on what your dress looks like and how old the flower girl is. I think if you're wearing a strapless gown it won't look right, I think it would make the flower girl look like she's dressing too old for her age. I do think that the idea is very cute. But some dresses aren't meant for little girls. Hope this helped! Good luck and Congratulations!

Personally I don't like it because I feel that a child young enough to be a flower girl should be more covered up. She should have at least short sleeves, not just straps. If the flower girl dress has sleeves then I think it's cute.

Its not gaudy at all, as usually the flower girl is a mini version of the bride. I think it looks so nice when you have a matching dress or one close to it. My niece wore a dress similar to my gown, and it worked out just as nice.

Good luck!

When I was planning my wedding earlier this year, everything that I read said to have the flower girls match either the bride or the bridesmaids. I think it's really cute for the flower girl to have a dress that matches yours. I put my flower girls in white dresses, but they weren't exactly the same as mine. As long as you like, go for it. Good luck!

It depends on how YOU feel about it. The bride is supposed to be 'the' thing at the wedding and you don't want anything to detract from 'your glory' :-)

When I was 4 my aunt got married (1983) and I wore a mini version of her dress. I remember everybody fixing their attention on me and how cute I looked etc. and hardly paid attention to how gorgeous she looked! Years on, looking at the photos, it looks rather 'silly'.

It might be cute in another colour though but only the bride should wear white.

Hope that helps?

In some ethnic traditions, the flower girl dress is a mini version of the wedding dress. When my son was ring bearer for his godfather, this was the case, and it was absolutely beautiful.

It really depends on the style of the dress, but I think it would be adorable!

Good luck!
