What I find entertaining is the idea that anyone could believe that life and this whole universe came into being by itself. Just because you can't find or understand the source doesn't mean we appeared out of nothingness for no reason other than chance.I think atheists are just people who have serious issues with authority figures. If there is no God, then there is no need to worry about consequences for your actions. Won't you look smart when you find out you are wrong!

The real reason why you are interested is because there is a feeling in everyone that makes a human want to know where they came from. There is a place in your heart that is empty and you are searching for something to fill it but the truth is no man, woman, or any emotion can ever fill it because only God can. You have no idea what it feels like to have a purpose in life and thats what God gives you. So go ahead and make your remarks about Christians but would it hurt to believe and feel like you're worth something?

I understand, because I am also atheist, but you have to realize that they have their rights to their opinions also. A lot of Christians ARE stupid, but a large number of them are extremely intellectual. I "chat" about religion because I enjoy learning about other philosophies and understand other people's opinions. You should try to be a little more open minded and look at the world from their perspective. It's a lot better than condemning them for what they believe.

I really appreciate crushinbrutte's response. As a christian, I don't plan on changing my faith, but I enjoy discussing religion (or lack therof) with others because I find that it strengthens my own belief. I don't feel the need to impose it on others, and I respect atheists even if I don't agree with them. I don't, however, appreciate being ridiculed. Nobody does, not even atheists. I know some atheists who are good people and respectful. Maybe you could learn something from them.

Maybe because they need confirmation on their own beliefs, maybe they don't know any better or it could be for conversation. But maybe there's a small part inside of them that wants to believe in something other than themselves like GOD. You non believers are just as entertaining.

Atheist like to chat about religion because like other religious people they usually want to tell about their faith. Atheist have a religion call secular humanism and it is has doctrine and creeds like other religions. They use separation of church and state (a phrase not found in the Constitution) to promote their religion.
