Most of the answers you'll get @ Yahoo!Answers are only individual opinions, I prefer to Go to the websites for FACTS & then form my own opinions from facts,
My opinion is Ford is a good company.
I wouldn't work for them otherwise.
note to Unappreciate:
Ford has more alternative fueled vehicleson the road than any other manufacturer. As a matter of fact Henry Fords 1st vehicles were designed to run on Ethanol
Ford -first flex-fuel vehicles (modern day) 1995
Chrysler - flex-fuel vehicles 1998
General Motors - Flex-fuel vehicles 2000
Ford -1st Fully Hybrid SUV (Escape's hybrid powertrain is able to run without the gas engine, GM hybrid only shuts off some cylinders of the gas engine)
Ford has been supporting Ethanol for years & is currantly ( along with VeraSun, anEthanol company) helping to fund the 'Ethanol Corridor' in the Midwest.
Ford has also been working with BP on Hydrogen Fueled Vehicles ( BP on the fuel , Ford on the vehicles that can use it)
The 1st Hydrogen fueled vehicles have already been tested and are being used in Florida.
So persuing Alternative Fuels is definatly NOT a reason to say that Ford is not a good company.

Yes! I work there and Ford treats most employee's fair. The union has bargained for excellent wages as well as outstanding benefits. Some say Union workers are lazy, and over paid. I say come work in one of the factories and sling tin for 8+ hours. Much like one well educated person who negotiates a contract or a baseballer who negotiates a 5 year deal worth 20 million dollars, the union has done all the work for us. Sure you have employee's that hang on by a thread, saying what have you done for me? Same goes for those who have an individual contract, or ball players that don't amount to a hill of beans when out on the playing field. Has Ford been innovative? Probably not as good as they should have been. That's changing. Layoffs, and management cuts will help reduce the strain on Ford stock, but managements decisions have ruined the company, not the Union. The company sat down at the same table and agreed to each of the contracts it signed. Can't blame the Union for that. As for education, how does $4800 per year sound, not bad. Health care, excellent! Although in the coming years that may change. Again, try working at any auto manufacture, when you go to the depressed South and slap up a building, bring in those who live in a trailer, poor subdivision, or have a low income family that needs to be supported, then say that Ford or any of the big three is greedy.

I think that Ford stands strong with their history. Unfortunately, they have compromised their quality significantly over the years. In a market where the average consumer is in search of a well-priced and well-made automobile that doesn't mysterious start breaking down two days after the warranty has ended. Ford offers good value up front and then falls horribly short in the end.

Unfortunatly, No. Any growth ford has had in the last decade was done on credit with poor predictions of the future market. This is now shown in their constant layoffs and reconstruction.
Simple rule to follow, If a company is expanding their buisness and growing based on credit instead of actual profits then they are not a good buisness.

Ford is a fine auto manufacturer. Their trucks are very dependeble and the new Mustang is a great comback of the old 60s and early 70s look.

No way! They started out as an anti-semitic corporation, their fuel efficiency is the worst in the industry for many years running, and the only Ford car my family ever owned was the worst kind of lemon. It wa always having mysterious engine problems, and it died on the test drive!

It used to be a very good company that produces very good cars but starting from the early nighties it starts to lose its glory... I don't think that now it is a good decision to buy a ford vehicle..I think that GM vehicles are much better now, especially, in terms of the life of the vehicle....

I 've been working at a ford dealership for seven years now and if you want my honest oppinion....Ford used to be great, but now they really seem to be putting out some junk. I can't really complain though, as long as they keep breaking I'll still have work to do.
