Mauve/plum?

My wall colour in my bedroom is mauve/plum, the carpet is cream.
What colours would go with this? e.g. for cushions, throws etc
I have pine furniture and a double bed. What assesories would be nice? btw I got rid of all my chrome things, I was sick of them!

I actually thought of warm colors. When I imagine your room I think of warm and soft colors.
Rosey colors in different shades and tones would be really pretty and feminine, and of course, some light/soft greens. Blend in the mauve/plum color.
Some shades of yellow would look okay, although it could look tacky with the cream carpet.

Just go to a paint store and pick up just a bunch of color swatches and then compare them to the colors in your room and go from there.

If I were you, I'd buy your comforter first and the bedding and then match everything to that. I would make it match the wall color with a blend of other colors in it and some cream or light cream sheets. Make sure the picture you put on your wall is a big one with lighter colors (a black or wood frame would look okay) so that it ties the room in together and stands out from the dark walls.
Have light-colored curtains... something similar to the color of the floor or lighter. (not pink).

Have fun!
Wish I was there to help!

Well, since plum/mauve is a red-purple tone, I think the best colors to go with it are those opposite the color wheel, a yellow-toned green. Since it is a bedroom, you want some lightness so I would think an avocado green would be pretty without being too dark. If you wanted to "pop" a bright color in there, you could accessorize with some orange as well. If you want to get a theme going, you could use graphite silver and icy tones of blue to cool things down and have a little artic wonderland.

It depends on what you like. Just don't be afraid of color.

Soft greens and light cocoa brown for the bed coverings. I love baskets in any room for storage or just plain decorating. I think they would look especially nice with your pine furniture. It you have the room you might add a comfy chair in a neutral cream shade. If you need curtains, check out Bed, Bath and Beyond shower curtains. Some of them can substitute for curtains with a delicate look. Add other items you love to make it your personal sanctuary!

oooooo nice :-) i'd go with complimentary shades of green ... olive, emerald ... combine elaborately embroided cushions with plain solid ones and vary the sizes, use simple throws .... a not too fussy white organza curtain ;-) i'm not a fan of chrome either ... wood seems to live doesn't it ... i prefer teak furniture tho' ......

mauve/plum does sound absolutely delicious ... have fun decorating!

Crystal beads or something sparkling to add some liveliness to the room.Too bad you don't like the chrome though, I actually think silver goes very well with plum.

Use a cream colored bedspread with your plum and mauve color for toss pillows, then for curtains use cream with plum and mauve sheer swags

Go with a beige or tan/yellow look. It would look really good, though without actually seeing the other color it's hard to tell.

Good luck!

The first color that came to my mind was forest green, which I think would look great with those other colors.
