Isn't it an emotion that has to be conveyed through actions than through words. Shouldn't we be acknowledging the love that is shown by our partner and saying instead "You love Me"

Shouldn't our love be obvious by our actions and not our words. Isn't it a manner of trying to convince ourself rather than the other person that the commitment has been made.

Say, Wouldn't it look stupid if you were wearing a white shirt and went around saying "I am wearing a white shirt".

"i love you" does make sense. although actions convey what they may words are also important in establishing the known. you have to remember that love doesn't always go both ways. someone could love someone but that doesn't mean that the other person feels the same way. "i love you" makes perfect sense to me and i think conveying this to a person is logical. also consider that love is give and take. you have to give love to get it, and by saying "i love you" you are verbally showing affection.

Nice idea but words AND actions work hand in hand. But I like the idea that actions HAVE to be there.

your overthinking it, the "I" represents your feelings for that person, It shouldnt be the other way around, because you can love someone and them not love you back
