That is what I just hear too. He transferred power over to his brother for the time being. There is a party in little Havana in Miami by all the Cuban refugees that left Cuba when Castro got power.

You heard right. I, too, heard on the news that Fidel Castro might be dead. Of course he might be alive too. That was the gist of the news report : we don't know.

He's having an operation and has ceded power to his brother. Unless something new has happened within the last hour or so, he's probably just still under the knife.

He is not dead he was just recovering from surgery and he temporarly gave power to someone else.
