I know a girl who had a cat that would only eat soft food. because of this by the time it was 15 it had no teeth left (because the teeth were not strong enough and had to be pulled out).

Gradually mix in some kitten hard food into the soft food.

Good Luck!

Smart Cat!!!

She has good instincts!

Cats should eat 100%, or nearly 100% canned (or pouched) food. It's dry food that isn't healthy for cats!

Dry food is mostly grain, and cats are obligate carnivores, lacking the digestive enzymes required to digest plant proteins. All they can do is turn it into fat, then live off the fat as if they were starving. This is why it's common for cats who eat a lot of dry food to become obese and suffer from malnutrition at the same time!

Also, cats are desert creatures, evolved to get their moisture from their prey and to have poorly developed thirst reflexes. Canned food has about the same moisture content as freshly killed prey, while dry food has almost no loisture. Because of that poorly developed thirst reflex, cats eating dry food aren't likely to drink enough water to make up for it, and that can l ead to serious health problems as they age, like kidney failure.

Also, don't fall for that old line about how dry food is good for their teeth. It's bunk. Cats don't have molars, so they don't chew like we do. They don't grind kibble into an abrasive paste that cleans theyr teeth. They just bite down on the chunks, it shatters into bits, and they swallow the bits.

Read this about how to properly feed your cat, and throw away that dry crap!

Start mixing dry food in with the canned food, and gradually (like every two weeks) add more dry and/or decrease the canned until she is used to dry food alone. Then get rid of any cans you have left (you might be able to take them back to the store).

You bet it's not healthy! Not only is she not getting the nutrients she needs from dry food, but my vet told me that canned food to a cat's teeth is like sugar to a human's. Dy food DOES clean their teeth!

Lessen the ammount you give to her, and get a high-quality dry food to leave near the canned stuff. If she isn't full from the canned food, she'll eat the dry. Wean her off the wet. Or, mix the wet on the dry and lessen the mix over several days.

Canned food is healthy. It is not the best thing for her teeth, but she is still a baby. Let her eat the softer food for now. Leave the kibble out for her and she may take a nibble if she wants a snack.

milk and try hidding some fresh food in the canned food
or you can always hid the canned food until she starts beging for any kind of food that way she starts eating what shes suppose to and she will live a healthier life and wont have to lose anymore of her 9 lives

We had this same problem with our cats, but except they weren't really our cats..they were street cats. Basically, we wouldn't leave anything else out for them but dry food. A day or two passed before they would even touch it, but they eventually did. I don't know of any other answer besides that. That's just my experience.

mix the wet with high quality dry food (i recommend pro plan) and every day cut down on the wet food.
until there is only dry food left. she will make a face at the start but hunger will take over her and she will eat.

at that time do not give her wet food or your own food. only dry food!!
