So I woke up one morning with what I thought was a bug bite on my face. I started putting tea tree oil on it a few times for the next few days. The bite was reduced to a small flat sort of scab (which is usual when you use tea tree oil), but yesterday when I looked in the mirror I noticed that now I have a rash around where the bite was. I have no allergies whatsoever (not to tea tree oil either). Does anyone know what could be causing my rash and how I can get rid of it? Thanks.

Please see a doctor. That bug bite might be venom based (i.e. brown recluse spider). Also, just because you have not had problems with tea tree oil in the past, does not mean you haven't developed an allergy to it now. Another thing, the oil could have caused a break out on your face due to the greasy nature of oil (facial skin is more prone to breakouts due to oil). What I am trying to point out is that it could be one of numerous reasons so the best bet is to see a doctor to find out what really is going on and to get treatment to get rid of it.
