yes, it is very humbling, and in a way that is good because one should not think themselves too highly, so occasionally we get swatted back to reality

Unfortunately, most go through something at some stage which completely alters self image perception. For me it was mastectomy. I am still not sure which would be better - the cancer or the cure.

You don't say what happened to you, so I can't say anything about that. For me I have to grieve my loss as any other bereavement. While I feel truly terrible, mutilated, unlovable, I know that I am still the same beautiful attractive desirable creature I was 3 years ago. I'm just waiting for my heart to catch up with my head.

I've just found out that I've got an under active thyroid....I've gone from a size 10 to a size 16 in 3months!!!! My confidence is totally shot to peices at mo! I put on a brave face towards work colleagues, but inside I'm crying. I have a very understanding partner which helps.
The most important thing to do is not to suffer in silence. Whatever has given you this low confidence, try to talk about it, to parents, friends etc. It really does help to talk...even on here actually! Good luck x

I did a few years ago but you can build it back up, if anything i got more now than i did have!! I started being more involved in stuff and stopped being such a doormat and a hermit, went to college, joined the gym and have made so many new friends i think i must be an ok person. Why dont you do the same, join a class in something you enjoy so you meet like minded people and learn to like yourself, im sure your a great person. Good luck xx

I think I know how you feel. However, if I am wrong, sorry :S.

I often feel I have little confidence. I am very shy and usually not the one to talk out. Also, I think i have speech problems...when I lack confidence, I am unable to utter certain words (for example ones beginning with "d", eg "delivery). This then makes it worse for me. I do find one solution for myself, which is playing football. This always gives me good confidence and I usually get all cocky and things when I do this :P. I dunno, I am about to start university so hopefully things will impove :D.

Everyone seems to have some level of self esteem and it varies from day to day but everyday is the same for me

Does it hurt when somone cuts your finger?

Breaking down ones confidence is cutting down the ego, especially for a man, its what hurts us the most we are too proud.

Why have you lost your confidence? It is bound to make you feel pretty bad!

I love you! There does that make you feel any better?
