what does your mom say?
tell him that for you the cat as like your child and you don't get rid of your children.
make sure to tell your mom, and your dad(if he is still around).
tell her that he knew about the cat when he married her that all three of you came as a package deal tell her that today he is asking you to give away your cat tomorrow it can be something else something she loves. it never stops at just the cat.
if you need any more help i would love to help, contact me via email with some more details about the situation and your family, i'm sure we will be able to work it out,

you didn't say why he wants you to get rid of the cat. But talk to your Mom and stepdad try to find a solution.

Why does he want to get rid of the cat? Maybe take extra care of the cat in case the cat is messing your step-dads things up. Maybe keep it away from him so he wont be bothered by it.

You could threaten to run away from home. If you want to talk to your dad and cry when he's talk in' to you. If you love your cat more than anything else you could save up a lot of money somehow and pack up all your stuff in the middle of the night and run away. Now before you do that consider all the consequences.
If you have another family member ask them to help you convince your step dad, that's what I did to get my rabbit (talking to another family member is a great way to go!

I agree, get rid of your stepdad. Your cat is more loyal and gives you unconditional love. He greets you every time you come home, he's there when you wake, get the point.

I would explain that the cat is a part of the family and you can't get rid of it. Also, take full responsibility for the cat. Make sure you feed it clean the litter box , calen up any messes, etc. If you show that your responsible and will take care of everyhing... it will be harder for him to say no.

Ask him why he wants to get rid of the cat and try to reach an agreement. I have a maccaw that my husband wanted me to get rid of 26 years ago because he screeched a lot.
I figured out what he was screeching about and took care of it the minute he started. The bird still lives with us.
