There's a shampoo you can buy to treat it. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SHAVE YOUR HAIR!!! Lice doesn't even live off your hair. They actually survive off your actual head. Like the skin and stuff. Pretty gross, but it's true!

First get a lice-killing shampoo from your pharmacy (like RID). And you will need to wash all of your clothes and bedding in hot water or lay them out in the son for a few hours to kill the lice. Also soak your hair brushes and combs in a solution of hot water and vinegar.

Second, you will need to pick the nits (egg sacks) out of your hair with a fine tooth comb because the shampoo does not kill them. If you don't do this the lice will come back. And every one that lives in your house should do these steps too.

Finally, wash your hair with a cup of vinegar once a week. This will keep the lice away. You will smell a little funny the next day, but it works.

I must say that I had that too when I was little but then it went away when my grandma put some coconut oil in my hair and brush it with a special comb that will get all the lice even the nits. If you can find a comb with little gaps then you can do it with little costs. Do this everyday for 15 to 30 minutes and be patient if you want to get rid all of them. coconut oil will not only give you a nice hair, it also gives shine and volume as well. Or buy a lice shampoo instead.

Go to any drug store, in the hair care section they have a product called Rid (I think, I think thats the name), it gets rid of hair lice ( pubic lice too if you have those). It comes in a box.

If you have long hair, be prepared for some hard work. You will have to use the shampoo to kill the lice and then a fine tooth comb they provide to comb the eggs out of your hair.

I had lice once when I was seven. Can you imagine a seven year old sitting there for hours while her mother combed her waist length hair with a fine toothed comb?

You will also need to wash all your clothes, sheets and pillows in extremely hot water and vaccum your house then throw the bag out right away. You also might want to try to find the source of the problem (a neighbor's child or something) because otherwise you will get them again and have to do it all over!

Good luck!

Here's how you treat lice. You will need the following items:

1. hair clippers
2. lighter fluid
3. a lighter or matches
4. ice pick
5. mirror

Take the clippers and shave half your head.
Squirt lighter fluid on your remaining hair and light it.
As the lice run out of your burning hair, use the ice pick with the aid of the mirror to repeatedly stab the lice to death.

It works every time!!

soak your head in olive oil, or vegetable, wrap in a bag or something all night. Mayo or shortening will work too. wash it out with vinegar in the morning, maybe buy a lice comb too.

use rid. wash everything that you have like your bedding, pillows, clothes. Don't use your brush, comb, pick or hair accesories such as rubberbands or bobby pins. throw them away. My sisters had lice and everything of mine had to be washed. it was horrible.
