What part of thou shall not kill dint you christian fools understand?
And this is one of the reasons my lack of believe.
I find it funny when each army unit has a chaplain which prays with you before u go into battle, now you are fighting an enemy of a different religion so you probably think is okay, but in the past that has not being the case.
War is dumb/religion is even dumber.

The best translation for the commandment that is often expressed "You will not kill" is "You will not murder." There is a big difference.
Soldiers who are fighting wars and are forced to kill an enemy that is hostile to them are not committing murder. This was well understood during biblical times and God does not forbid this type of killing, although He would like us to try to reach as many people as possible with the truth of the salvation He offers us through His Son Jesus.
Having said that, soldiers in war time are still under moral obligation to the Lord not to commit murder. Where this becomes difficult for me is when innocents are accidentally killed in war. However, I believe that the Lord knows what our intentions are, and if the killings are truly accidental and no harm was intended to the innocents, that He forgives such tragedies.
As to your point about not all soldiers being Christian, please realize that I believe that only those who have put their faith and trust in Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior are forgiven. However, this is true regardless of whether they have killed anyone in combat.
I hope this is helpful. May God bless and keep you.

The greater sin is to sit by and watch atrocities happen. To sit and allow those who started this evil to do so. It was not the soldiers or America. They are righteous. Some of us follow the God of War. Some follow the Lord of Hosts. War is human nature, as sad as that may seem. It will always be with us. Had we no army, we would have had to go as citizens and destroy. So we shall if it comes to that. Live your life without fear and die like a warrior. Anything less is beneath contempt.

Even King David went to war and God called him "a man after God's own heart." I think the more urgent problem is whether or not these people are "saved" Acts 2:38 says "repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins." Hopefully they're making moves to be right with God.

God has addressed this issue, with the statement, that governments are responsible for the protection of it's citizens.
And that military soldiers whom fight other military soldiers to defend, protect and conquor an enemy, are not killers.
A Military Soldier commits a sin when they kill innocents with full intent.

I would say that is for God to decide. He may not even consider what they are doing wrong (though my interpretation of the Bible says He does) but may consider what they are doing as self-defense, which God has allowed in certain cases. And remember that God's chosen people the Israelites often went to war in the Bible under God's orders to do so. But after reading the whole Bible, my interpretation is that God no longer wants us to fight at all and definitely not to kill. But again, only God can decide that one.

It depends on how the soldier feels about it. If they enjoy killing and go out of their way to kill others, then I would consider that a sin. But if they don't enjoy and kill their enemies in self defense I don't think God would judge them harshly.

Man, there is an interpretation for everything!
I think he would. However, there are some that, while they were ordered to kill, they also had malice in their hearts and a slightly less "noble" reason for their actions. Those people will burn in a firey pit of hell and its nasty brimstone. You don't get off just because it was also under orders.

I believe that duty comes first. Doing one's duty is the highest merit one can gain. In war, it is a soldier's duty to kill or be killed. In that setting killing becomes necessary and therefore, isn't a sin.

I don't think so , but our political leaders will be judged accordingly. Those that wanted the Viet Nam conflict to proceed, so that they can MAKE PFOFITS in the steel business, for example will be judged accordingly. Oil , too .. Professionals will be held at a HIGHER LEVEL of accountability in the particular field that they represent.. It is wrong for you or I to smoke in bed ......It is MORE WRONG for a FIRE MARSHALL to smoke in bed - He's supposed to know better. Wars for monetary profit are WRONG
