I know what you are going through. There are stereotypes of activities that different races take part in. Who cares what your firends think, they don't matter. All that matters is that your woman is happy. Swallow your pride and try something different. You may not like it, but on the other hand you may love it. But how will you know if you don't try it. I have done some things that black people aren't supposed to do. I went skiing, i hated it, it was cold, but at least i can say i tried it, and i will try it again. It is always good to do something different, so go out and camp. I bet you have tons of fun!!!

Key words, "They Say, and My Woman" Do you follow your heart in life or do you follow your friends? Since you refer to your partner in life as your woman, she seems to be a part of you. She's in your heart. Follow her and she'll follow you. Do things with her and try new things that she likes to do and I'm sure that the bond between the two of you will strengthen. You may find that you'll enjoy camping. Don't ever stereotype activities or interests that another person might enjoy. You'll never know unless you try it.
Be a "real man" and stand up to your friends. You don't have to explain yourself to them. She's your woman and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Remember, if you marry her, you're going to say some very meaningful vows that you need to be able to keep. When two become one, it doesn't matter what others say.
Just keep in mind that race has nothing to do with it. God made us just the way he intended for us to be. I'm an African American woman and yes, I would go camping with my man.

You can't be serious.. Go camping. If she is interested in it, endulge her! You also might like it! It will be good to spend time alone, and you could have some good conversation time about things you may have wanted to say to her.. Last but not least not just whites go camping... Take care and good luck..

So much for blaming all of the prejudice in the world on whites, huh? Camping is great for families, period. It doesn't matter what race you are! Tell your friends to go screw themselves. Camping is very romantic. Is that only for whites?

It never crossed my mind that camping had a racial aspect to it. If I was you, I'd go camping because you might like it, its good to try new things. If you don't like it, you don't have to ever do it again, but if you do like it, you have something new to enjoy.

And fried chicken and cornbread is for blacks. See how rediculous some stereotypes can be? Go camping. It's lots of fun if you enjoy the outdoors.

I think you should, an activity is not limited to a race. Go broaden your horizons and leave your friends in their ignorance. The more knowledge you have in a topic the more well rounded that makes you. And plus you dont have to tell them you are going.
