isnt it true that christians started imagining satan having pitchfork and horns.... because alot of natives in many countries had these items. Horns were from dead animals, pitch fork = spears. Dark figure = black skin

Satan
In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of God plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

According to the Bible, (which by the way I don't believe in) Satan never had horns or a pitchfork. He was a fallen angel, and one of the most beautiful ones at that. It says that he will come to earth as the Antichrist (a human) and everyone will love him/her. So, yes. He has become more modern.

the illustration of satan and a pitchfork with horns was just made-up to provide people with a visual image of him. But you can never tell what Satan really looks like... He can be dressed up as a well-polished individual or like what the previous guy said, "a businessman with a suitcase".
The point is that he doesn't want you to know and he will keep you guessing... As for a modern day imagery, hmmm.... maybe think of of nuke weapons...

I hear he looks great in gummie hot pants too? But I think that just a rumor. He probably has an *** like Howard Stern.
I think Al Pachino did a pretty good job? and Jack Nicholson too!
Lucifer... Looks like you and me and every rotton evil human trait and characteristic we possess. Your "Demons" are your character flaws. They all look just like we do on this level of existence. They do however look quite different on the other 6.
Light refractions change and things look different there because there is no need for the eye (in the human sense) to percieve things. Half of the universe exists because we actually see it to percieve it and the other exists in the mind. For lack of a better description.... and if you believe that sort of thing. That is what the mystics and metaphysics like Bardon and Alder teach.
The image of the devil with the red suit and the pitch fork came out of the artist renditions of the dark ages. and it was first commercialized on the little cans of deviled ham.

Ezekiel chapter 28 describes satan as made up of gold and many different precious jewels. He was created as a cherub and sinned when he became haughty over his appearance. So we can only assume that he is absolutely beautiful in appearance. So I guess the pitchfork and horns theory is slightly out.

Satan looks like any other Angel. After all he was an angel that rebelled against God.
People started viewing Satan as some horned creature when they came up with the Hellfire doctrine.

Satan never had a pitchfork and horns... that was taken from Pagan gods such as Pan the Satyr, among others... It was used to "prove" that the pagans worshipped devils....
He's a slippery little bugger... no one knows what he looks like. He's better at disguise than James Bond.

Satan was created as the most beautiful angel in heaven. I have seen nothing in the Bible to imply that he looks any different today.
Eze 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
Eze 28:14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
Eze 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
Taking into consideration human imagination does not change reality.

It comes from his statement to God:
"I would rather Rule in Hell than Serve in heaven"
And the description of Hell as a hot, thirsty place.
Join the two you have a Hot loving salamander looking creature, all red, with tail and pitchfork to prick the souls.
BS
Satan is the most beautiful looking "MAN".
for the angles are men of God.

I don't think Satan was ever described in the bible as a demom with hoofs and horns. I think he looks more like an angel, just with a twisted mindset. I would think that he looks like an angelic warrior.
