you don't get saved and then just sit back and wait out the rest of your life. talk is cheap. James 2:16 explains it. your talk needs to match your walk. you can't claim to be a Christian and live like the world. you have to show your faith.

People forget Acts 2:37-39 as well. Grace alone doesn't save us. Faith alone doesn't save us. Following God's salvation plan saves us! Grace and faith remind us that we can have our heart's desire within the scope of God's will and find redemption when we fail. All these elements must be present in a Christian walk to help a person "endure until the end." As for once saved, always saved, I don't believe in that possibility because the Apostle Paul was quoted as saying that we are "ALL APT (or liable) to sin" All includes EVERYONE and excludes NO ONE, so that means that no matter how long you've been serving God, you are still flesh and can be tempted. Hence the need for obedience, faith and grace to all be present. Paul also taught that we are to "mortify (kill) the DEEDS (sins) of the flesh" daily. This means that to help ensure that there is no sin in our lives that we're not sure to be sin, we can pray and ask God about it, seek counsel in the Word or a preacher and thereby "cover our spiritual bases" .

That isn't that hard really. Saved by grace through faith, is the beganing. One must first believe before any one this to happen. James however is talking to the mature believe. I can may all the claims to being a Christian I want but if I don't live by the faith I claim my faith means nothing, it's dead. If I never say a word but I put my faith into action, live by what I claim. Putting others before myself, having compassion, being selfless instead of selfish. Then my faith becomes real and it shows. The works of my faith are serving others, going out taking time from work to ride kids with cancer on my motorcycle at summer camp. Going out and help others in need where I can and not asking for anything in return. That is the works. Not doing it for public again but doing them quitely, respectfully, out of sight, not making a big deal.
Faith becomes real when you give of yourself and never ask anything in return. The joy is in the giving and the doing.
May today claim to be Christians but their works show a different story and that is what James was getting at.
I ask this, How can your faith be real if you actions speak otherwise?

How can he be seen the terrific ever whilst he wasn't even seen the terrific in his league in the time of any season as glaring via his 0 Cy youthful awards. And the argument that he performed for crappy communities is absurd. outdoors of the 1974 Angels that went sixty 8-ninety 4 his communities have been top around .500, basically like Ryan. Examples: 1985 Astros - group eighty 3-seventy 9, Ryan 10-12 1980 Astros - group ninety 3-70, Ryan 11-10 1979 Angels - group 88-seventy 4, Ryan sixteen-14 1978 Angels - group 87-75, Ryan 10-13 1971 Mets - group eighty 3-seventy 9, Ryan 10-14 in fact whilst he became on the Angels from 1973-1979 he wasn't even the terrific pitcher on the group, Frank Tanana became. ft (ninety one-sixty six, 2.92 era), NR (119-one hundred and five, 3.18 era). optimistic Ryan became dominant particular days yet he wasn't even on the brink of be the terrific all time. BQ: i think of Francona can win 2 extra titles with the Sox.

Christian does not every 2nd month get himself saved again! Once saved always saved!
However if you leave the faith, (notice I did not say church) it is said you were never saved in the first place. Maybe! If you return you do not have to be "Saved" again!
The yo-yo we hope will die in the faith (die? Live).
To James:
Faith saves you, it is your "ticket in". You have faith, you will be in heaven Yea! This IS all you need, Oh JOY.
Your works is what clothes you in heaven, it is the material that your robes will be made of, the gold for your crowns. If you have no works you will (WILL) be naked in heaven to your shame. If you live in the flesh with no works you are of the dead in Christ!

You have hot a key in the word of God -
Jesus relayed to all who listened that it was a narrow path and not easy to follow and you need to endure to the end.
That certainly seems to me to wash the easy belief that all you need to do is accept Jesus with no other works.
A video of the gospel of John was on the other night and this reminded me of the man that ran to the church as the great day of God began and knew in hos heart at that time that some were right and he had been deceived.
Keep reading, you will learn more.

dead faith does not equate a loss of salvation. If Jesus is powerful enough to save you but not powerful enough to keep you, then the devil can take you out of Jesus' hand, and that would not be scriptural.

Faith manifests itself in works; a faith which does not have works is not a living faith, but a dead hypocrisy and intellectual speculation.

Better yet why do Christians say keeping the law is to hard when G-d has a different take:
11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not too hard for thee, neither is it far off.
12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say: 'Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it?'
Deuteronomy 30
13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say: 'Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it?'
14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
